I think Bothy Threads use Madeira...
If they do, then I don't personally like them,,,
I find that they "shred" more often, and they untwiddle at the end..
Just my opinion though, feel free to disagree x

I agree. I find black is the worst. I've got some from winning a competition but I'll keep them for card/tiny designs. You are better off shopping around for DMC or Anchor. Across Town Stitching (link on page 1?) is very reasonable.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Yes I think Bothy Threads use Madeira threads although I can't be sure if a recent kit of theirs I was using, whether it was anchor ?? Bothy Threads include a questionnaire so you could always say the threads are naff ??0 -
Louise beautiful, I love the colours of the fairy. It will look lovely when finished which wont take you long to do.

chicky - Troutback looks great, can't wait to see it framed
catwoman -I'm trying to remember as it's been nearly a year since I stitched my Bothy Threads cut thrus, but I think I found the Madeira was fine. (I usually remember if something annoyed me, so the fact that I can't remember prob means it didn't).
Actually one of the many things that annoys me with African Sunset is the thread. It's Anchor threads, but I find all the browny shades knot and tangle quite badly, which I wasn't expecting.
I don't think I'll get much stitching in this weekend unless I do some whilst I watch Take Me Out tonight. We're off to my parents for the day tomorrow and we'll all sit watching Arsenal v Spurs. I get very excitable when I watch Spurs, so there is no way I could stitch or I'd end up taking someone's eye out with my needle!!Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -
Thanks for the feedback on Madeira threads. A mixed view really. I hate it when the floss breaks it looks so untidty on the aida. I might just search for that kit in a chart form then make it up in DMC threads. Anyone know of any good chart sites that may stock it, I have looked at a few and they dont have it.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

Do we have any knitters amongst us ?? I have posted on the knitters thread because I want to have a go at knitting a pompom scarf using this pompom wool but all has gone awry! I am rather
:(:( and have decided that best stick with what I know and go back to cross stitching. If you have any knitting tips then please share. I am going to leave for another day and shall probably have a go at boring knitting practising casting on / knitting / purl etc before I try my pompom project.
Hope everyone has a lovely evening planned. Meant to be going down the pub later but have decided all I want to do is stitch so thats the plan :T0
