Thank you everyone. I'm super impressed with myself on it, cos although not every stitch is perfect it is the biggest and most inticate thing I've worked on and stuck with. My problem is I get ahead of myself which is why I havent finished any one panel yet (and in truth only one flower is fully finished on it...)

I just wish I could stitch faster like some of you... I can't get the hang of two handed stitching for somereason.

Ok back to vampire diaries and stitching.

It looks like Bird Brain designs is an american company (I have not heard of them) but the design is also available from an australian ebay seller. Trouble is, I know I would never get it as neat as the finished item in the picture !

Oh and I'm cross, while browsing for cross stitch scissor keeps on ebay, spotted one I liked, only to find it was a "chart only" :mad:

PP - Love the flowers, it's coming on so well!
Louise - so speedy again! I think it looks great. I personally wouldn't have the patience to stitch all the dark shades, so I like it when I see someone else doing a darker piece.

As everyone has unanimously agreed I should stick with the half stitches I'll bow to the general consensus and leave African Sunset's sky as it is. I didn't even think about the depth! Looking at how much I've got left to stitch it'll be quite nice not to have to go back to it at the end

Louise i love the colours, poor fairy does look sad in the finished piece doesnt she, your work is beautiful.

Mum picked up CSC for me today and now I want to stitch that free gift for Mum :rotfl: Never ending isn't it.

It does depend on the chart though - each page of this one is only about 1200 stitches, whereas one page of my HAED is 80,000, so it's hard to judge speed by pages

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO completed (if anyone wants the chart/ what's left of the threads let me know). Just gotta wash the lines out and find a frame.




Katyliz - my sky is supposed to be whole stitches but I left it at half. I prefer it as I think it gives a 'cloudy' effect.
