Anglea - Thanks for asking, we are having it today. Looking forward to them all coming round. Only thing is the storage heater in the dining room fell off the wall last night, we had just gone up to bed too, made an awful crash. Luckily it just missed the chairs and table which is all laid out ready for the meal. We have someone coming to make the electrics safe, they were supposed to come last night but then rung and said they couldnt make it till this morning and would be here about 10, still not here and just had a call saying they dont know what time they will be here and they will ring on the way. Hoping they will come before the family arrive at 1.0

Hello all :j
You all seem to be busy grabbing bargains ! Well done.
I've resolved to spent nothing until I've had a thorough clear out of ''stuff'' that I know I can recycle on to someone else. Already got a spare room full (well not quite full) of bits and pieces left over from previous year...........must go through them and see what I can use.........sent to charity shop what I can't and make a fresh start.
So, had a lazy day and been messing about with cross stitch stuff I had bought me. Can't see myself doing the fiddly little designs but had a go at letters and basic type flowers...........thinking I might have a go at some sort of sampler as my ''new year project''...............it's something Ive not done before.
susan - lucky you with the sewing machine. I can't manage to lift a 'normal' one on to the table so think I'll get one of those ''mini'' ones.
Hope you're all ok and hugs to those who need them ((((((:))))))I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I can't sew not even a button, I'm hopeless. teach me a lesson for telling porkies ...Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
Hi everyone
The heater is fixed and didnt cost anything, the bloke came about 11.30, said he would take it apart and have a look and said he couldnt find anything actually wrong just a bit dented and the electrics all sticking out so he put a new switch on the wall and fixed the heater back on the wall and said to give it a try to see if came on this morning and it did so now I can ring up the other insurance and tell them I dont need to claim after all.
Our last Christmas dinner went off well apart from the dog knocking a glass of red wine all over my lovely patchwork table cloth I made. I have washed it twice and it seems to be coming out a bit, so I might try it again and see how it goes. It might not show.
We are not doing anything tonight as OH has to work tomorrow so will be up at 5 so early night for us tonight. No doubt we will hear the fireworks.
He has found out he is working next Christmas and will be on nights all over the holiday - great!! Will be hard trying to keep YD amused for the time, will be boring. May be she will get an offer to go round someone elses house for Christmas day instead.
Susan - great news about the sewing machine. The kindle case was really easy to make. The one I made myself took a bit longer as I was just working it all out, but I made another one after for my niece and it only took half an hour to do. Unfortunately when she got it it didnt fit as hers was an older kindle to mine so I had to make another bigger one yesterday. My sister is sending the first one back to sell on my shop. I am off to make some more this morning plus I need to finish off making a cushion for someone.0
