    Xmas Saver!
A big welcome to the new faces, were def get you organised for xmas, and by then your have the cleanest kitchen cupboards! - In the santas challenge add a cleaning task, that we don't really want to do, and if Miss Hoodie (dd's nickname) she helps with challenges, shes 9 going on 29! loves that part, but for some reason always disappears when its time!!

I have culled my xmas and bday list, both people buying for and budget, but again need to reduce it further with all the bargains.

Had fun the tumble dryer decided it was going to do a dying duck on so, not quite the excuse wanted for hitting the xmas sales, good old Argos online, new one coming Fri, really plzed with 2 day delievery. Our house looks like a chinese laundry.
The old caretaker at the school by us, always joked he knew when we were away as there was no washing on the line!!

Trying to be organised and sort out house ins, at last my father has finally been converted to shopping around, - sorry that means I do the researching he pays! So far managed to save £50 on buildings + contents with Swintons, but he wants to check a couple of bits, fair enough, if he goes with them, thats £30 cashback, go nicely in my fund....

Next xmas job allocate prezzies we have recycled and what we didn't use this yr... all helps xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Can I ask how you managed to get the free dragon with a tattoo book. I think my DH would love this and its his birthday around the corner?

I love the idea of culling very much! I think it would make me cry if I added up how much I spent on kids last week!!!

I dropped the last set of Christmas presents last night and the chutneys and jams went down very well along with the granola. Also the mini gardening hamper was also a hit with the seeds, trug and propogator. Not sure how the bath salts went down but I did get a nice thank you for giving the thoughtful presents.

No big EPIC birthdays for me next year, just need to think about mum's birthday and Mother's Day then a rest for a few months until brother's birthday in the summer.

Thinking about getting mum some clothes if I can find some in the sale? Otherwise some spending money for her holiday and a little hamper of handcream and maybe a cheap fruit tree as she really liked the one I got her for Christmas. In fact, just remembered she loves blueberries. There we go then, a blueberry plant!

Ceebeeby it was a freebie with one of the papers, Guardian or Daily Mail if I remember correctly. There were a set amount of them free and my guess would be that they may have all gone by now if they have starterd to send them out, it was a good few days before Christmas that I applied. No harm in looking back through freebie board though as Purple orchid says, Good Luck!

Feeling a bit better today so hoping to make it to the sales, typically its pouring with rain but I guess that could make for an easier shop for me as people stay away. Will let you know how I got on later!

    Morning all

Florenceem, nice to see you over here, I will be making some of my gifts again this year in fact I have already started on them. I have decided to make my two sisters a bag each like a tote bag, and then fill them up with bits, and for my nieces I am making them saddle bags. I already have one of them made up ready.

Hello too to all the other newbies joining in xx

OH and I are going up to town this morning to see if we can get some cards and wrapping paper for next year. Also, I want to have a look in New Look as I got a voucher for there. We need to get a bit of shopping in too, havent had any milk in since Monday so I have been having toast for breakfast. I much prefer cereals.

Tomorrow we are having another Christmas day with ED and her lot coming round for a big dinner and presents. We are hoping we can sort out the table as its a 6 seater and there will be 8 of us. We dont even know if we have enough chairs lol. We used to have a couple of extras in the loft but OH thinks he took them to the tip. It will be a squash to fit everyone round so we will have to try it out today to make sure it will work.

I did some sewing yesterday, first time in a few weeks. I have an order for a cushion so I made a start on that, I can finish it off over the weekend sometime as OH is working all weekend. I also made myself a Kindle cover (picture on my blog). My niece saw a photo of it and asked me to make her one too so I made one for her as well yesterday evening so I need to post that off today to her. I am going to make some more at the weekend and put them on my shop.

Gettingthereslowly - it sounds like you really need to join the Thrifty money making thread too ;) That's some list you have there.

Hi everyone - Well yesterday I had 35 rolls of wrapping paper, some ribbon and tag sets and two boxes of crackers. Organised or what? The driver thought they were late presents too and he was joking with DD that 'I'm always at your house'. Cheeky wotsit - he should be grateful I'm keeping him in a job.:rotfl:

  • Hi everyone,

would love to join up again, I did start last year with good intentions but failed miserably when work and uni got intense. :( Don't start uni until April so hoping to make a good start with organising christmas and birthday's :o
