Lol at Miss Hoodie, she has an answer for everything.
Must say that the internet and this MSE web site is a wonderful thing. We had a dripping tap in our kitchen. Couldn't afford to get a plumber in so had a look online to see how to fix it. Followed a video, had to take the top cap off, unscrew and screw and then lift the tap handle off the top. Do you think we could get it off? We thought we must be doing something wrong so posted on this site and someone told us we just need to give it a bit more brute force. Got that off then couldn't undo the brass thing underneath. Came back to the internet, found another video showing you how to do that if its stuck, managed that and put new fittings inside but still got dripping tap. Came back to MSE, posted again, someone else came on and said to buy a cheap tool to use on the pipe inside the tap. Got one yesterday £9.99, drip is just about gone (think we might have to use the tool a bit more) but now tap was spinning around instead of staying still. Searched online again, said the washer under the sink might be broken so OH looked and said it was broken. Came back to internet, found someone suggesting a special washer where you don't need to take off the taps or anything to replace the old one. Looked for stockists, Screwfix sell them buy only in packs of 10, so emailed the company and said can they let me know where to buy just one and just had email saying bloke is going to pop a couple in the post today complimentary.0 -
Rufus - thats brill idea, its right thou why sell 10 when you only need 1.
Fun and games for us witt the school saga, they tried to pull a fast one, so complained yet again, this has been going on since before Easter hols, been told the school has one last chance to sort it,pulled an ace card out of the pocket, some infor kept when I was a goveneror, so now awaiting for a "grovelling call" from the head, - they have another shot at trying to sort it, if not sorted - massive leap to the next level of complaining to is the secetary of state! So could be a long haul.
Bless her Miss hooide brought me a pair of flip flops 2ngt, she wanted to spend some xmas money, on new clothes, ok, so as it was Matalan, could use my student discount, she spent £50, but got the flip flops to say thank you, I nearly cried in the middle of the store, did have a tear, thought bless her, she really has a heart of gold.xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Going to meet my friend in a bit, put on a pair of trousers I made the other week, have worn them before but went out in the garden just now to sort out the dog and they fell down lol. Had to rush back indoors. Hoping its a good sign and I have lost a bit of weight already although doubt it after just one week, more likely they have stretched a bit.
Had my blood test done this morning, was in and out, was expecting to be down there at least an hour. Havent got much else done this morning except some surveys and writing a review. Can't do a lot as OH is asleep, on nights again but he is off tomorrow and the weekend. Going to pick up out new (to us) car tomorrow afternoon so he is all excited.0 -

Had quite a good day 2day - no dramas!! (nearly)
Miss hoodie bit upset 2ngt, bad day at school,so me jokingly said we're shower Bailey... (luckly got walk in shower) he was up the stairs like a shot, it was so funny, had tears down my eyes, - got half size doors, so shut in him and lean over, - he lifted his paws, then when we sprayed under his tum he lifted his back leg as if to say lower!!
Give you a laugh - telephone call from the CSA - do I have his lordships phone number
doh do you read your notes the last time we spoke was in 2002, i think I would be the last person who would have him number.
Then they rang back and made a calculation they've got to tell him!! that go down like a lead balloon!!
Exicted the Tesco points came today - so looking at booking Benidorm for next year, and this should pay 1/3rd of the holiday!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Good with the holiday Mum2one. Had to laugh at your dog. Our Rufus used to hate going in the bath. We just couldnt get him to go out there if he knew the bath was running. He used to lay on the floor with floppy legs so we couldnt get him up, used to have to put his lead on and drag him out lol. Stupid thing is once he was in it he loved it and after getting out he used to get well frisky, running about all over the place.
Going to pick up our new car this afternoon so excited about that.
I bought a big ladder from Amazon using some of my vouchers. Just had the dispatch note to say its on its way via Royal Mail. Was hoping they could give me a day for delivery but looks like it will be hit and miss. Just hope it dont come Monday morning as I am supposed to be going out.
Just put off Monday's outing as dont fancy having to go and pick up a ladder if they put a card through lol0
