Mary hope all goes well with OH
Mum2one awful about the hospital messing up. I am yet to find someone who can do their job properly lately.
Sick of this rain all the time, got sky installed Monday because of the weather i needed something to keep me busy when at home.0 -
Had a day out today with OH, met his bro and sil and went for a long drive, ended up 85 miles away from home lol, they said they were taking us to this nice restuarant but when we got there it wasn't open. Then they said they had found this fantastic shop and wanted to take us to show us it and it ended up being the Range lol, which we have just round the corner from us and we are always in there. Still, was nice to see them and had a nice lunch in a different place. I was good and stuck to my diet. Off to see my Dr for a chat in the morning.
Got a cushion to make for someone so will be busy over the next few days but will try to get on.0 -
We have a near disaster.......
Rang the pub where we were having mum and dads party, as I hadn't had any conformation, the pub has changed ownership, the diary with all 2013 bookings went with the old owners, the new ones want £150 room hire, then their buffets start st £9.99 per head........... did I still want it...!!
Rang another 2 pubss with function rooms, - need parking, as lot of the guests will be older, one pub turned round and said are you sure you want to book so early, as they could be dead by then....... so I put the phone down.
the 2nd pub, £200 room hire, and then £7 per head........ do I realise it would be a pain for the pub to have a function on a Sat afternoon as they would have to clear up for a Sat ngt. (bye bye)
Desperate - rang pub 3, - they don't have seperate function room, but they divide the pub off, you ould not have spoken to a nicer person, - free for the pub, and buffets, £4, £6, £8 per person, so aiming for £6, no room hire. So got to double check with the manager 2mor, and we should be flying high,
I was getting desperate was going to ask if I could hire the church hall, £20 per hour!!
Positive - Vistaprint mad
Invites - order 100 postcards (free)
Thank you letters - 30 flat note cards (free)
Party favours (thinking small yankie candle ladies, mini whisky for gents,) put them into cello wrap - ordered personalised stickers
Guestlist - mo its 60, (reduce to 50, hope 10 say no!! (there 6 children thinking ordering equivalent of 3 sets of food in terms of numbers)
Church booked 12pm - the church that mum wanted to get married at. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Ours had lots of parking, good loos, plenty of coat hanging space (the three essentials I look at before even considering booking somewhere for a work event).
We got in external caterers and did the table decorations ourselves. Had the added advantage that it was in walking distance from the church (which doesn't have parking) so people parked there, walked up to the church, walked back again. It also meant children were fine running around (and in our case there was a children's playing area back of the carpark so parents took it in turns to supervise smalls run off steam)
I know you'll sort and it'll be fab :TMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

I hav ebeen very orgainised today and gutted Miss Hooides bedroom, took 6 hrs, - we had black bun bag full, 2 carrier bags for recycling, 2 bags for the carboot and 2 bags of clothes she has grown out of for her friend.
Absolutely shattered, but her bedroom looks fab, she really did gut the lot bless her.
A glass of wine for me now, being nice and uploading some music to her mp3 player, xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Afternoon all, been doing sewing the last few days, had a cushion order to get ready for posting. Yesterday afternoon I went to help my SIL do a tombola stall at a charity do for MS, was only a small affair in a tiny village, we made £36 on ours so was glad as we beat last year's.
Got dinner done early ready to hot up later on so having a lazy afternoon with the Grand Prix on and then listening to the football.
Suns out, been out and checked all the plants in the garden, they are getting quite big now, not many of them out in flowers yet but don't think it would be long now.0 -
well done mum2one and Miss Hoodie
susan I just love your creativity. The cookie present really made me laugh. I have a friend who is 57 tomorrow and am adapting your party in a box but putting it in a nice tea-caddy (I love tea so quite often get them as presents, and am realising there are only so many teacaddies a girl needs! So if anyone has any ideas post them here(not sure when I'm seeing her so don't need to get it done for tomoz - saw her yesterday and another friend spilled the beans) She's very keen on photography so the other idea was a photographer's survival kit. so ditto on that.

Hello all :j
Well, what a carry on. OH sees GP last Friday.....gp takes one look and says ''surgery'' then looks at notes that say ''surgery not advisable''.......something to do with the lining of the stomach wall. Anyway, GP is referring OH to a surgeon anyway and see what he says. Be different one to the last one. OH was real fed up and could last year repeating itself but he's managed to rise above it and got stuck into some gardening.........we both have.....within limits but enough to get a few weeds up and yesterday got some plants to fill gaps and make OH feel more positive and have something to look forward to. GP was sending letter out last Friday so hoping we'll hear s.a.p.
I went into town yesterday but came back with nothing apart from plants and OH carried them but it was nice to get out. Wore me out but I still did a bit in the garden.
Thankfully one of the lads we used to foster came up and moved a few heavy things for us then went out and got some wood to make a trellis. He'll be up later in the week to do that. Other gardener chap seems to be more interested in some painting work he's got on.
Hope youre all ok and enjoying the sunshine -while it lasts............:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

A personalised press pass
hmm this is tricky. Am thinking sock jam would be easier(I just love the idea of sock jam - in fact think I'll do that for this year and start working on the photograph idea)
