Mary, I have trouble getting up from kneeling. I cant stay on my knees for longer than about a minute anyway as I get bad shooting pains in my legs and I can't push myself up with my arms to get up where they don't work properly and hurt and also my kneed joints won't help me get up so I get myself in a right mess sometimes. I forget and think well I will be able to get up then find I am stuck and cant, I have had to crawl through the house before to get to the sofa as I can usually get myself up by leaning on that as its not too high.
Mum2one, glad the covers were nice, bet she will be looking forward to bedtime.
We had had a couple of days out, not been very nice weather but it was nice to see something else instead of just my walls in doors or our miserable high street. Yesterday we went to my Dad's and took him to a nursery to get some plants, ended up buying another lot for our garden too, then had to buy some more pots to put them in lol. Won't be long there won't be any space left out there. Today we met my son and his fiancee for breakfast, saw baby grandson for a bit, he is getting big now, got two teeth already. Then we went to see OH's parents for a while. Having a day in tomorrow on my own while OH goes back to take them out shopping.0 -
Mary  please be careful. I know you know your own boundaries but please take care

Hello all :j
rufus - least its not just me with the knees problem...........all stems from my back and I should know better but you know how it is......have a good day and think ''I can do that'' -well now I know not to even try it.
susan - I know my limits, or at least thought I did. Certainly do now. Couple of days rest and taking it easy and I went into town today. I was on a mission to see if the navy cross over bag was still in Sue Ryder. OH said he had a look yesterday but got so confused.....never seen so many bags. But it was there and is now mine :T
No more problems of shoulder bags slipping off. Its not easy with two walking sticks.........bad enough trying to work out ways of carrying lightweight shopping without shoulder bags falling off in the process. I ached when I got home. Knew I would but despite weather forecast being fine for tomorrow (if they're to be believed) I was after that bag................lol
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

It could only happen to me!! mum was on about her 50th wedding nxt yr and that she wants to renew her vows but dad won't as he says once for enough (little knowing it all booked), then she was on about having a Sunday lunch like I did for my 40th, but would I organise it for her...
So I managed to convince her with the family etc and if she invited x, then you need to invite y, so i said, why don't you do what we did for Miss Hoodies Christening, and have an afternoon buffet. as it would be cheaper than paying for 3 course Sunday lunch..
What a brilliant idea, would you arrange it for me!!
PHEW ........... That was a close shave, as got the function room booked for after the church service. So that says me some money, as I offered to pay half towards her afternoon do and she said no, so i just have to pay for the church!!
Feel a lot better 1st day without toothache in over a week, can just about chew on right hand side.
On the school front - have now resigned as a goveneror, after the way theyve treated dad and its going through the complaints procdure, I was basically expected to support the school over him, I'm sorry but blood thicker than water.
Also (touch wood) got 12 months free of hassle from court cases, Miss hoodies got to have letters for a yr, at least she hasn't got to see him.
Mary -may have to come to you for hints tyo complain about the hosp, had my 1st appointment changed, no prob, then a phonecall saying the consultant doesn't want to see you in the general clinic you got to a specialist one ok,,, then today a letter arrives cancelled the new appointment, taken me off the list and don't know when there rescheduling!!
Sods law the GP that refered me only works on a Thurs + Fri,! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I havent been upto much today OH went to a bootsale, he goes most weeks and he spots some great things. I dont go its to cold...mind you its lovely today.
He came back with 4 cushions. I have a thing about cushions and I tell him to pick them up so I can use my machine and print slogans on pillowcases like these
pillowcases
Well I digress, he came back with the 4 cushions and I loved them that much they`re now in the lounge. They were 2 from Next and 2 from the posh furniture shop I only go in to look , he only paid 50p for them :T. Still need some for the other bedrooms though
He also got a few books, I love reading.
And 3 plant pots £1 , I `ll use these for my sweet trees.
So I stayed home and made these
Kids sweets
for the children in the street for xmas , early I know but I`m on this thread to be organised
mum2one - you`ve given us some great news there, well done on pulling the wool over your mums eyes :rotfl:

Susan, I love those choc bars and the rendieer food there fab.
car boot this morning, nice 830am start, cleared out few bits and cleared £20 after paying for the table, so all in lapland fund.
Miss Hoodie is bad books, - her friend came round yesterday with her mobile, so Miss Hoodie said could she text her, ok, no problem set the ground rules... then the phone rang! ... Madam disappeared outside thought her friend had rang her, all today she kept going for a walk round the carboot, which is normal. Checked her phone £40 of credit has gone overnight!!!!!!!! Apparently her friend texted and said ring me back, course madam did!
So phone now under lock and key, normally she is so sensible, she says she didn't realise. Thank heck wasn't a contract phone! (thou mine now pay + go). The girl who she was texting her older sister, (now 16) her parents took out a contract phone for her 16th bday, and the 1st month she run up a bill of £600. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
 mum2one - well done on the bootsale, those mobile phones caused no end of arguements in our house. Its so easy to go over, I have a bar on DD phone now. She gets 1200 mins, 5000 texts, unlimited data and 3 weeks in she runs out. They block her using it for anything else apart from ringing me or DH. DS is totally different...DD has managed to get a £1000 phone bill in a month , but we wont go there!!! it was 3 years ago....Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0

Evening all, you are all making me jealous about going to boot fairs. The weather has been too bad for any round here, been raining non stop all weekend. I only got to one boot fair last year so hoping we can do some more this year but no luck yet.0
-
Hello all :j
Our last boot fair at the local school was rained off and all the others are miles away.
Ordered one of those kneeler/stools. Got it from our local garden centre -one price online, dearer one in the shop ! So I've bought it online and neighbours daughter is picking it up for me (she works in the coffee shop there) so......might just be able to plant or weed something.........or just sit down...............lol
OH plonked bag of compost on the kitchen table this morning so I could pot on my nasturtiums and repot a few house plants. Pleased I did it-makes me feel not as useless as leaving it all to someone else to do.
Sorted out a stitched motto for a birthday pressie and a card I'd painted so thats another job done.
mum2one-let me know if you need any help with hospital/gp stuff. Every hospital has a PALS but I avoided them as they work with nhs........I went for the independent advocate ICAS. They send all the bumf on what to put in letters etc. Very helpful.
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Perhaps we should call ourselves the bad knee club:eek: i cant remember the last time i dared kneel. It always ended in tears literally.
Love the craft piccies susan42. Omg about the mobile horror stories. Something similar happened to a friend of mine's daughter, again about 3 years ago. Sure you're not my neighbour?!
No bank holiday for me, but quiet day at work after last week's manic storm (i hope) and can catch up with stuff.
Gave my friend a jar of meerkat sweets in an old coffee jar with a sticky label saying 'compare the meerkat.com instructions pick two meerkats at random and compare' went down very well, and at £1 a bargain present :money:MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
