little things i can think of for your mum
key ring, trolley coin, bookmark, notebook. packet of seeds if you go carboots you can pick DVDs up for £1 if she wears glasses does she use those cords to hang them on?
see if you can get hold of some photo from differnt stages of her life if they are digital images you can do a little photo collage at boots for about 99p on their while you wait machines
our sains local still have the pink flower shaped mothers day keyrings on their counter. (they have something like 'worlds best mum' written on) bet they are pennies now ill try and check later.

my mum is 70 this summer so youve given me a good idea for her pressie (70 little things in a hamper)

Some good ideas there for you Nickybo, only other things I can think of is may be make a cd with her favourite songs? Print out a nice picture and look round the boot fairs for a frame for it. Does she wear socks? If you get a pack of three pairs or something from Primark or somewhere you might be able to split them up.

    Hello all:j

Some super ideas there for pressies. Think I might 'borrow some of those'. Was thinking of doing an 'advent' box for son and his girlfriend so there's something for every day up to xmas then something special for the actual day. I've sent for loads of ''freebies'' that would do for some and now I've got a few more ideas........thanks folks:T
If I do an advent box and post it early enough it just might get there in time. Don't know what happens with the post.........Last Friday OH posted Easter cards and sons birthday pressie............his pressie arrived next day and first person to get a card was today ! All 1st class as well.

OH has just put the damper on me wearing my wollen maxi dress for christening.........bit ''drab'' he said. Then insists it'll be warm on Sunday. I'm not so sure............still I've got plan B outfits.
No rain today -sunshine but very cold. Finished off little stitched motto for 'forgotten' birthday so I can get that posted next week.

    Hope you're all ok:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I've got the church sorted for mum and dads golden wedding, the bloke who is doing it, he's doing it as near as he can to a wedding ceremony, and said as he knows us, bar the normal photos in the church, as its Jan, we can have extra photos done in the church of the guests etc, instead of them being done outside. he's doing the whole service for £100 for me. he said he's doing a wedding later in the yr, and with the regisiter the bill for that is £400, but he's not charging a fee for himself, just the hire of the church.
Its nice as its the church that mum wanted to get married at, but they were licensed at the time, i was baptised there at 3mths old, and Miss hoodie goes to the church youth club, so the family ties helped!

Just somehow got to worm it out of them what songs they had, and eventually find a way to get mum to get a new outfit, made an excuse last week for dad ti try on his suit as they have a habit of buying a new suit wearing once, then when it goes in the wardrobe it shrinks!! so got him to try it on as it was the free ebay weekend! but pleased to say that the suit he brought for Miss hoodies christening still fits him. he's sorted.

have the venue sorted, was going to hire the room at pub and diy cater, but they've quoted £5 per head, - list drawn up maximum is 50 people, £250 for room +food - afternoon ceremony, hired room be £100, possibly could save £20 or so by diy catering, but then its getting it there + back + setting up, so going for them doing it.

    main bits are sorted.... x
