    Fabric jewellery bag.

Photos in - thread - The Sewing Room.

I had the fabric/velvet ribbon in my stash. The plastic circle for stiffening the base is cut from a milk container.
I will use thinner fabric for the inner next time. Definitely going to make some more of these for presents.

    Xmas Saver!
Shouldn't laugh, but had a surprise call from my local chemist, could I send someone down to get a prescription
    doh
haven't ordered any! No you haven't but theres an urgent fax come through from your doctor, with a message you are to have this prescription asap, as your new medication will run out before the next appointment!
That is what I call service!

Miss Hoodies really happy, shes got her 1st trip out with the red cross, there taking 30 children to Waterworld, - all we have to pay is £1.50 for the lockers and send her with a packed lunch. so plzed, she deserves a treat

Florence - I love the sound of those jewellery containers.

Mary - never thought of that idea about using cappicunio boxes for the gift bags, as we have a few of them, at xmas Miss Hoodie got mum 10 boxes... xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Mum2one, thats good work from your doctors, shows they are on the ball for some things if not making an appointment. Hope Miss Hoodie has a lovely day out at Waterworld xx

I had the last book turn up that I ordered for MGS so his presents are all wrapped up ready for later in the week. YD took her BF's gifts yesterday as its his birthday today.

I have made a list of some other things I want to make for gifts when I get a chance to go up and do some sewing. Think OH is off again later this week so not sure when that will be. I did well last time I made a list so may be this time it will give me a jog to get on with it.

This is what I am planning to make still

2 saddle bags for the other 2 nieces
4 purses for the nieces to go in their bags
2 card wallets for my sisters
1 back pack kind of bag for my SIL (she likes these kinds and I have found a lovely tutorial)
May be a bag of some kind each for the three great nieces
And may be a paint brush roll for my brother
Thinking of doing a dolly quilt for my GD but need to check she still has baby dolls and plays with them and not grown out of them.

Cant think of anything to make for the boys in the family so might just buy them something. 2 are teenagers and the other is about 5 or 6.

Susan lovely to see you back again. Might be the thread you are using on your machine or even the needles. Check your manual and make sure you are using the right needle for the right fabric and try changing the thread. Also another thing a lot of people don't know is that you have to thread the machine while the foot is in a raised position (the machine foot lol not your own hahahaha). If you try threading with the foot down your tension will not be correct. I didn't even know this until I bought my new machine and saw it in my manual. There was no mention of it in the manual of my last machine and I had terrible problems with the tension on that and thinking back I reckon this is what was going wrong. If I was in the middle of sewing and the top thread broke I would just re thread the needle and carry on sewing instead of putting the foot up first. Stupid thing is OH chucked out the last machine when I got my new one but in all probs there was nothing wrong with it.

Just came across old post re pot of gold and poem from cattie1 so love the idea thought i'd share it here in case anyone else hasn't seen it. Take a gold pot (they got cheap ones from au naturel) add chocolate money and one lottery ticket plus following label
    * This pot of gold is just for you,
To wish that all your dreams come true, *. Love it so much almost wish i was irish and could give to friends on 17th march :-)

    Hello all :j

susan - good to see you back. Was wondering where you were

mum2one - good surgery you've got there. Ours is much the same and we've an arrangement with the chemist for repeat prescriptions.........we just ring them once a month and they're ready to pick up......no need to go through the surgery

I've done next to nothing today - again ! Really must get my **** in gear and think of stuff to do. Everyones had pots of gold and gravy tubs full of beauty freebies...............looks like this year every one will have a little framed 'stitchery' of some sort but must think of other bits to put with them. Oh well............maybe tomorrow...............oh..........just thought of something I can do. I've got a load of books with pretty illustrations in I don't want anymore..........could make some bundes of lettercards, tie with ribbon............there.....thats something to do tomorrow............must ask OH to get me some card

    Hope you're all ok:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
