Have a really good day today, went to a 60th bday party this afternoon, felt sorry for the bloke he had invited 36 people and there was only 13 of us turned up.
He had a function rm at a pub and had a buffet put on, I had 2 plate full of food, even dad went up for 3rds...
He was so pleased with his presents, I got the car cuff links, -£8 down to £4, (past times), signed them off mum and dad, then a book and DVD about the 1950s, -£14.99 reduced to £5.40. He was showing everyone. I was bit worried about the cuff links as the cars were about an inch long, - but I did a classic, (he was the one whose mums furneral we went to last yr) when he changed his car, his new reg has got his initials and his mums, so I said we got the cuff links as they reminded me of ur number plate. (phew). They were the best things since buttered bread, someone brought him a box of chocs, he put them back in the bag, and took our present around... (thank you PAst times).
Good news with ebay, not as brilliant as I wanted, but we have sold Miss Hoodies old clarinet, we pd £40, in July, we were told by my friend who runs a music shop, its def a "starter" clarinet, and to move it along, she said ask £50 and come down. I put on ebay for £30. It was bought in the last 10 mins, one bidder, - but shes got another one its 2nd hand, but should have been £100, but as shes having lessons through the school, theres a vat back scheme, so we got it for £80, but on the proviso anything we made off the old one went off it.
I reckon its a dealer as the address is a market stall, so just waiting for him to pay.

one of stash was a raffle prize toiletry set on close examination the bubblebath has separated out rather so gonna keep that one for myself. I suspect it had done a few raffles! Walked round town looking for marmite foodie items (must be postable) but nowhere seems to do them. DS suggested getting a marmite ricecake kit ie plain ricecakes marmite knife and intructions lol (wanna do marmite themed shoebox for sisters birthday in march. Hm, hope she's not reading this lol)

Thanks for the january challenge. I have got lots of non - special christmas cards stashed for next year that I have not used this year. I have not done my usual xmas sale shopping!!!!
Cant believe it. I have been trying to be really good and wait until payday. Im going to go into town this week and see what is about x
Love vistaprint, all the family absolutely adored their personal calenders and cups and bags with pics of the kids on so will be getting again throughout the year.
Freezer and fridge is ok but am going to go through it again before this weeks shop.
Mum2one - cant imagine how u must be feeling but just wanted to say that I really appreciate the things that you do on here for us especially as you have got alot going on. keep ur chin up xx:o0 -
Dundeedoll, I would love to be able to pick up the coins I see on the floor but there is no way I could bend down and pick them up lol.
I still havent had a day to myself for a while, I have to go to the hospital with ExMil again this morning although she said she wouldnt need to do any shopping after this time so I might be able to get the afternoon indoors and do some sewing.0 -
Hello all :j
Not much done today.........but the cards I did yesterday have a bit added. When I sent for some fabric samples a while back they also sent me a book with pictures of the fabrics.........kept it for using on cards. So, the page with the check fabric pictures on is now being used on cards and I've cross stitched a little heart, running stitch round the edge, fray the edges and stuck it on.............I love them
Just realised the jumper I've got on has some flowers embroidered round the bottom...........brilliant idea ! I've a couple of really plain jumpers upstairs I could liven up a bit I think.....................getting into this sewing stuff:rotfl:
Hope you're all ok. Stay warm:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Sounds a nice idea Mary to embroider some flowers around your jumpers. Will make them look really posh.
I got a bit of sewing done this afternoon after all. OH came back from his Dad's with a nice big table that folds down so I collared that to go in my craft room for cutting out on. Meant we had to go up and sort the room out to make it fit, then OH decided to help YD sort her room out so I got on with some sewing while they were at it. I made the fronts for three more cushions, not sure when I will get the backs done as we are going to see my Dad tomorrow and then OH's Mum on Wednesday.0 -

Dundeedoll - thats awful at least they rang, hope you get it sorted out ok.
Good news! Miss Hoodies clarenet sold. The opening bid which was £29.99, thought lost £10, then realised when we paid the teacher it was £40, (£30 for clarnet, £10 for lesson).
I sold £23 worth of clothes, just waiting for the money to come in.
Some more gd news, - picked up a private owners caravan in Rhyl, got it for less than half the price of the site, the lady sounds lovely, really plzed,
--
Not so gd news, phone call from the school Miss Hoodie had been sick again, can we get her, there not happy as shes looks so pale... wouldn't u if you had thrown up for England. Miss Hoodie was upset as she wasn't sick over anyone!
Rang the GP (with the school and the situ don't 100% trust them), the GP laughed, as I apologied for ringing, but she was really nice, and asked was Miss Hoodie always pale, because I'd been laughing with up, piped up, yes unless shes on all an all-inclusive holiday! she saw the funny side. But she wants to see Miss Hoodie next week for a check up, with a view to blood test... so it wasn't quite wasted call.
We're ok. Not looking forward to the cold snap we've been predicted to have! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Still waiting for four buyers to pay! Another buyer who bought four items is still bidding - stuff that finishes on Sunday - didn't ask if it was okay to have me wait a week!
So my Eb.. sales amount is creeping up. On the bright side - already have bids on two items listed at the moment. :j
