It's lovely and quiet here. DS1 still in bed, OH still out and DS2 has been fed, dressed, and is now playing next door. :D

DW, WM and TD all doing their thing (with more to come), I've tidied the kitchen, washed a few pots, put the last few bits of shopping away and hoovered through downstairs. It's as good as it was yesterday, but DR and kitchen still need lots of attention.

I'll make a hot drink and have a look at this decluttering calendar before I get on with the stairs/upstairs bits.

I'm just about to have a proper look at it.

ETA I don't think this will work for me, as it would need too much adjusting. I think I'll stick to flyladies, HHCs and dot-to-dotting.

    Hi all,

I hope everyone had a good NYE.

We went to OH's for the night. We had food then i had one glass of bucks fizz (but because it had been there since Christmas day it was just bucks without the fizz) and fell asleep on the sofa at 6pm for 2 hours. :o When i woke up we put Ds2 to bed and attacked the cheese and biscuits. The we watched a film and i fell asleep again until 12.30 when i woke up and realised we'd missed it all. Oh hadn't noticed the time either because he was still watching the film. I didn't sleep very well then though because the bed was really hard and i was against a wall so started getting claustrophobic (good job i had those naps really).

I don't know how much i'm going to get done from my lists today because we're going for a walk soon and we've not been back long.
I'm posting it anyway to see what i can do.

I'll join you in this as I'm determined not to allow BD to take up residence here! I'm no Polyanna, though, so it will be a challenge.

    Let's encourage each other then!

  • Hello everyone.

Just sneaking on to say hello. I'm a bit scared of the flylady thing because I'm so bad at it, but I'm determined I'm going to give it a go and take control of the state of my house. I've been reading for a few days but I will be joining in properly from now on.

    Hello all

Hope those of you that celebrated the new year don't have sore heads today.

    S&S kitchen tops and table
Cleaned up after cats (& fed them)
About to hoover LR & stairs

Am puzzled/confused. As you know my OH passed away almost 2 years ago, this xmas I've struggled a bit (this is mainly to do with his children and me hoping they're ok and xmas has some magic still for them. OH went all out at xmas for them to make it special and it brings tears to think that they no longer have that. I don't see the children anymore, for reasons I do not know, but that is up to their mother).

BUT I have a (major) crush on someone. I've known him for 10 years and kept in touch sporadically over that time. I am conflicted as I still have times of sadness (as mentioned above) but then I have this crush. I am 30 and having experienced how precious life is don't want to have my life stop now IYSWIM. I would love to have children, but I've made peace with the fact that may not happen. I do feel ready to move on but only with my crush. My crush has no idea of my feelings and currently working abroad, I believe he comes back in March. The only contact I have with him is via FB but I'm too shy to send him a hi how are you type message, also I know he works long hours and feel like I would be bothering him. I'm rubbish at this dating lark and don't know what to do

Anyone got any advice on any of the above? Sorry I have rambled - I'm torn between trying to move on but not being disrespectful to my late OH.

    Happy New Year everyone!

I fell asleep early evening then woke to the sound of fireworks and thought it midnight. Grabbed my phone and rang DD. I was saying Happy New Year to her when she told me it was only 10 0 clock. She said it was the best laugh she had in ages.

Not much done today. Normal service will resume tomorrow.

Afternoon all and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Only 365 days to Xmas  Lol - had to put that in :D

Well hubby is now ill, I'm only hoping that he hasn't caught Tonsillitis from me and that it is just a cold :( He has been absolutely amazing in the last few days and has really looked after me x My turn to look after him now x

My eldest boy, (17 year old), found a phone on the street last night and straight away said that he would take it to the police station first thing in the morning but that we should keep it switched on overnight in case anyone calls so that they could collect it. Someone called half an hour later - they were just down the road, came and collected it and gave my son £20 to say thank you! I'm so proud of my son for the having the right attitude in the first place :grinheart

Anyway I hope you all had lovely celebrations last night and here's my little list of things to do today, (it is only little - doing things slowly and steadily as I get better :) )

    Take down decorations
    Tidy living room
    Hoover living room
    Dust and polish living room
    Shiny sink
    Tidy and clean work surfaces
    [STRIKE]Bedding in WM[/STRIKE]
    Bedding in TD
    Declutter kitchen table
    Hoover kitchen floor
    Mop kitchen floor
    Put clean bedding on bed

I have made some promises to myself for the new year - one of which is to do my best to achieve at least Level 1 of FLYing five times a week :)

Happy New Year and Happy FLYing in 2012 all :)

    Jenny x
Everything happens for a reason :)
