    Happy New Year everyone.
Hope that 2012 is a good and healthy one.
Had a quiet New Year last night. Kids in bed and boyfriend came up :)Children seem to have adapted really well although expect DD will be a little upset when she goes to kids' club on Tuesday. House doers not even seem to be too bad considering I have less time, I have even manage to start the New Year with no washing or ironing :D.
Quiet day today., Children playing with their toys and I will try to have a tidy up.

Happy new year. I'm up and still full of cold. However, I want to get the new year off to a positive start, so have set the DW off, out the kitchen bin out, had a very luxurious shower with the new stuff I was given at Christmas, addressed the thank you letters I wrote last night, got dressed and eaten breakfast (banana porridge for those who are interested :p).

Next I plan to out on a load of washing, then walk to the post office and get rid of the letters. If it goes OK (AF is here for the first time since my blast hospital visit, so I'm a little wary of what it's going to be like) I will walk home the long way round.

Flying for today will be general tidying and an attempt to remove some of the boxes etc from my bedroom as I hate it feeling cluttered.

Handyman has just dropped by to say he can't get hold of matching worktop for my utility room for less that £250 so I need to go and look for offside somewhere... And not worry about matching (unless anyone here has a couple of feet of ikea beech block worktop going spare!). We also still can't do the trees as there hasn't been any frost... I have no idea when I'm supposed to do the pruning if everything is still growing...

First load of washing is in, and I think I'll do the dressing gowns later too.

    Good Morning everyone xx

2012 begins without a sofa of doom! DS wanted to lie on it yesterday, so I cleared it. We now have a pile of doom on a kitchen chair, but can seat 5 people in the LR for the first time in forever.

We're going to M&D's for lunch, before then I'm going to:

    put rubbish out
    1 x WM
write a list of paperwork that needs doing
    get dressed

Then, when we come home, I'm going to do HHP or 2 if necessary.

My aim for 2012 is to end each day having made progress - no matter how small- towards the goal of a tidy clean house.
My second aim is to to lose weight....a serious amount of weight but half a stone at a time.

I guess I've learned to look at at overwhelming tasks in a whelming sort of way. ???? If you can be overwhelmed and underwhelmed then you be must be able to be whelmed surely....not that it's a word that I'm familiar with. Any ideas?

If anyone wants to join me as a 'losing weight' buddy do say xx

    Ninth Anniversary
Just coming on to wish everyone a happy and peaceful new year!
Have spent a few days with Mum and Dad which was nice and hopefully gave Mum a bit of a break. Think Dad will need yet another operation on his knee in the new year as it looks like the knee replacement hasnt worked and once again he is in a lot of pain.

Quick tidy round and then going with DH to Bury as he really needs some new clothes so will have a look in sales. I dont need any ... I just need to shift some weight to get into what I have:(:(

Love to all of you for 2012

Hello, I would like to join you ladies please.

My house is cluttered to some extent but clean and I am working on the worst bits :o So a New Year and it's time I got to it. You are all so good at motivating I thought it was time to get involved.
If anyone wants to join me as a 'losing weight' buddy do say xx
I have joined the losing weight challenge on here which runs from now till Easter at the moment so 7lbs is very doable if like me you want to take it slowly.

Happy New Year to all flyladies (and gents) and their families!
Welcome to all new folks on here and 'thank you' to the others who have been here a while and make this thread so great. Also thinking of absent friends.

DS2 and I spent NYE with NNs next door, OH went to the club as usual and DS1 was out with a friend. We were all back in the house before 2am and had a lie-in this morning. All I've done so far is catching up here and on fb. :(Roundtuit, you could join the weightloss/healthy eating MSE flyladies discussion thingy on fb.

Plan for today is to carry on with my abandoned list from yesterday.

I'm trying to start 2012 in a positive way. I'd expected the last year to be difficult and it was, so I'm hoping that if I expect this one to be good, it will be. :D

There will be lots of changes ahead - by September I'll not be working in the same place anymore (the school is merging with another one in a new build, if I get a job there) and DS1 is likely to move out at some point, even if it's only temporarily to go abroad for a few months.

I'd like to be more on top of things (work, diet, exercise and otherwise) and have a house I'm not ashamed of. A bit of time for things I enjoy would be good, too.

However, nothing will happen if I don't get off this sofa. :rotfl:
I'll go and retrieve my list, then...

DSs to thank various people for their presents
    Mop kitchen and bathroom floors
    Hoover upstairs/bedrooms
    clean bathroom
Clean WM/DW/TD filters and put through on a clean cycle
HHPaperwork - I know it's boring but it needs to be done
Wipe handles and switches, door, cupboards anything aim for 10
    My list for this week:
work stuff (need write more detailed list for this)
HW with DS2 (make a plan)
    tidying with DS2
    find health ins claim form
fill in DS2's passport renewal form

    plastic recycling to Mr A
    laundry x3 - WIP

    Next week:
    phone Diamond
put all Christmas stuff away (Monday)
    clean suite (Monday)
take suite to friend down the road (Wednesday)
    hoover LR thoroughly (Wed)
    wipe skirting (and walls?) (Wed)
clear odd bits out of LR (Wed)
make sure that I have cash for carpet cleaner (Thu) and furniture delivery man (Fri) :D
collect numbing cream for DS2's blood test
    take DS2's books to library
    bag to charity shop

I'll start with straightening a few bits in the LR and see what it leads to. Note to self: Switching on kindle before completion of tasks will be fatal!

    Good Morning...er....afternoon :o Ladies :)

Firstly, Happy New Year, may 2012 bring all that you want :)

Another slow start for me :o, but I have emptied and reloaded the DW, the WM is on and there's a load of towels out on the line (I'm checking on it every couple of minutes as it looks like rain tho :( )

So my Flylady plans for today are:

    [STRIKE]Shower[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Wash & straighten hair[/STRIKE]
    Washing x 3 ([STRIKE]hot[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]darks [/STRIKE]& [STRIKE]lights[/STRIKE])
    Take tree down
    HHI x 2
    HH Paperwork x 1
    [STRIKE]Make the bed
    [/STRIKE]Put yesterday’s ironing away
Clean LR after taking tree down

The first two need to be on the list as these are my achilles heel(s)..I'd much rather sit around in my PJs all day, but once I'm showered and dressed I'm ready to get going ;).

My 'Me Treat' for today will be to shape and paint my nails later, after the work is done :).

DC - thanks for the info re the weight loss challenge...will see you there :)

Letters posted and reasonable walk completed without any issues. Washing in TD/on airer, so need to get the dressing gowns on and text my ironing lady to find out when she can next pick up.

In order to feel that I'm making progress, I guess I should start moving boxes around so I can start clearing the bedroom and then pack my charity shop bags (once labelled) into the car so they are out of the way.
