  • Update:

(I hope there are still people reading this... :))

I set up an ebay account, hopefully will get verified in a week and then all the paypal monies can come in! First round, I will sell my dvds- they all are excellent new just not sealed, some of them I have watched once, most of them never watched - presents!

(if anyone wants to get good bargain dvds, my ebay name is ayinreshyud!)

I wonder if they will sell if I do not have a rating yet... we will see.

On debt subject: I paid today £150 to amex (still wont allow me to do more than that, got to find out why...). Still positive, still going on, tomorrow I will write longer.

    Goodnight everyone!

Yeah I just realised when I started selling! sooo happy!!

about the pictures, I did not want to bother about putting a picture as I am only selling DVDs, do you think they will sell anyway of should I update the listings with pics? Updating doesnt cost more does it?

    Thanks!!!

I haven't listed anything recently (ebay recently changed a few rules so I can't promise to be up to speed) but it used to be that gallery pictures cost but altering a listing didn't.
My opinion is that I wouldn't feel I had to put a picture for a CD, but I haven't tried to sell any. Certainly put a picture if you are selling something distinctive like clothing that would appeal by appearance.
I put a note on the end of each description to the effect of 'Please check my other listings - I'm having a clear out!' I found some people followed up on it and bid on more than one thing.

  • Hi Nicola & Miggy

    Thanks for coming in!

Updates: not selling very well on ebay, only one item will sell so far so thats a bit dissappointing, but anyhow. I have a seven day selling period so might get better towards the end.

I know you lovely people here not going to like it but I got ill again... this time not because not eating, I think it's just a virus, and I have no voice at ALL! actually quite funny, am at home. I just had to spend £7.35 on medicine though, which is a lot but I have to do it otherwise I never get better. I am drinking a lemsip now. To make it financially bearable, I decided I am not going to buy anything today. I a,m going back to the doc today at twelve, and then I still have food at home... will try to rest too. I don't know why this all happening to me, maybe there is an emotional/stress trigger as well.

Anyhow, that's £7.35 wasted today, not a good start for the day but that will be all.

Financial news: the season ticket price just came off my amex. I wil now be able to transfer the "savings" on it. Only tomorrow throuhg, because of time limits - I hate this with amex, to all my other cards I can pay as often as I want...

I am a bit bored at home so offered to my boss to be working from home a bit, if he needs anything urgent. This means I will be sitting on the internet. He hasnt come up with a job yet, such a nice man, wants me to rest. But still I will be on hold here and will come up with sensible budgets for the next week or so. Next Friday I am going to see my family, coming back Monday afternoon. So my plan is to eat at home on Friday morning, then dont spend anything at the airport (so hard!!!!!) and dont spend anything while I am there (that will be easy), and on Monday, I am flying back, can eat on plane for free PLUs can bring mommy food and eat that on Monday, meaning, no spend day again, so, if everything goes ok, I will have Friday/Sat/Sun/ and Monday spending NOTHING at all!!!!! now thats a challenge...

will write later. I love this diary!!! Thanks again for suggesting this.

Hi, I hope you're feeling better soon. Remember to drink plenty of liquids, that helps.
I posted a comment that doesn't seem to have appeared, just to say I had a look at the ebay items and it looks good! Don't worry that you don't have loads of bids yet - most bidding is right at the end.
The only suggestion I would make is to enhance the 'blurb' where you describe what you're selling. I used Comic Sans font as that's the easiest to read, and I made it coloured and slightly larger. I also centred mine and put a line break between parts of the desciption, but that's just my taste. It made it eye-catching anyway.
By the way I have now tried all LA's recipes off one of your threads and they are gorgeous!
