Hello again!
Catt - true, its just the feeling that it was a self-set goal, how pathetic that I cant even keep that... but anyhow, I will set a more realistic goal for me... and i am really not going to beat myself up about that 15 p.

miggy: you are absolutely right, i am like that, going from one extreme to another and when Im on high then its just wonderful but when Im down I just want everything to end... I am always either extremely positive or negative about my debt. this might need changing....

You can also make you own tortilla wraps! With plain flour, water, frying pan and something else ( baking powder?) OS know the answer to this oneI know ive seen it there

Good morning!
This is really one of the nicest mornings ever.
I got a massive £1764.24!!!!!
I can’t believe it. I couldn’t wait till I got into the office so checked it at the natwest cash machine before I got on the bus. I was jumping all the way to work! Finally, finally, finally I do have some money that’s actual money and not just available credit. My God, I realise over and over again how horrible it is to be in debt. I am going to get rid of my debt as sopon as I can. I want to see nice positive pounds on my savings account piling up….
So I put aside £400 for rent. That left me with £1364.24. Unfortunately HSBC charged me this month’s interest of £25.53 (uhhh) so with the debt collection £55 paid from that card yesterday, I went above my limit by £17. They did not charge over limit fee yet and if I’m lucky they wont because they receive my payment at the same time as they receive the charge. Sooo I paid £540 right away to HSBC. This, if I calculated right, leaves me with about £1500 debt on that one. Woo hooo!
I also sent £100 to my Marks and Spencer card just to cover the minimum and some more. I assume the balance on that one would be around £1250 but I did not calculate interest in so that’s an additional fifteen quid I suppose. Since I have a fairly good interest rate on this one I decided to leave it as it is for now.
I realised I couldn’t pay my amex because I made a small payment within the last three days so I can only pay again on Sunday. Which is good because it leaves me time to think. So the rest of the money, I put on my other savings accoutn (both at natwest, accessible by a click online) – that’s 700. I left £24 on my current account just in case. So by Sunday I will see whether I pay this all on my amex or I keep a little emergency fund, or maybe I keep like 200 for spending moneya nd just pay the rest on amex, I will see. I can’t really see any emergency coming my way so I might not need the emergency fund.
What I need to spend on this month:
1.) food at work – I need to top up my pass with about £40 to cover a month’s work lunches. It’s plenty. Maybe I only put on £30.
2.) Purim party – I have to go to that one, with the costumes and the ticket, etc it will probably cost me about £52. I know it’s a lot but it includes torah reading and everything and I really MUST go to it. And also, its plenty of free food so I will probably save on that day’s food anyway.
3.) £40 to put towards the plane ticket I need to buy next month. If I put aside £40 now and then another £60 next month then its not like I have to pay the whole amoutn at once.
4.) £60 to Orange bill – that’s bill for january and february because I couldn’t pay it in Jan…
This is about 200. And then maybe an additional £100 to put aside for everything that I might need, like additional food and food in the weekends, soya milk etc. so if I do that, this will mean I will have paid off at least £900 of my debt, incredible… next month I will aim for £500 because I will get much less money then…
So that’s my plan now, will update my sig soon – for the first time I am actually proud of myself, this is looking better and better!
Anyone knows where could I borrrow cheap costumes for the fancy dress party?Total debt £3625.07.

Just popping in to admire all that lovely cash before it goes its separate ways!
WRT how much to allow for various things: I think if you are in doubt, allow the larger amount. That way you are less likely to throw yourself into a pit of despair if you spend more than your minimum, but you may well have some extra at the end of the month to pay something off, which would be a nice feeling and something to work towards. For instance, allow yourself plenty on your work pass - if there is some left over at the end, just put a little less on next time.
Have a great dayMiggy

Thats looks great, if my bank balance read that I'd be skipping all the way to work
Sounds like you've got it sorted, so have a great day! Just another thing to suggest, do you have anything you can sell on Ebay/Amazon? Just to bring in a few extra pennies
Its something to think about anyway!

Wow, well done. It's great to hear you so happy - makes me happy too!!!
Now remember, don't cut it too fine on anything this month - even if you have £5 left over at the end of the month this can go towards next months debt!
Keep at it! :T :j

miggy - thanks. I did a full forecast for Feb to 9th May and its actually a bit dissappointing, I tried to foresee day by day but the total adds up to £500.... need to think about this more. Need to find better ways to cut back. I might post my aoutgoings and see where you guys could help me tu cut back?
sf: thank you, it WAS an amazing, liberating, inspiring feeling! and the £800 is still sitting there...soo nice to lookat....
