Well done on the positive feedback. It is a nice feeling when they start rolling in.
By the way, you are not 'giving up' when you adjust the amount of time it takes to pay back your debt...it's called being realistic hon.
What's the point in paying it all back super quick when you'd probably rack up more debt in between by having a big blow out after getting p1ssed off at having no life!
So many people do it, would hate to see you do it too. So go with the more realistic plan.

Sorry to hear about your phone bill - we just got clobbered by a hefty landline bill so lots of sympathy from me! However, you seem to be doing ever so well with selling. Don't worry about the ones who haven't paid yet. Sometimes it takes a day or two.
I am going to attempt a quick answer to the food challenge but am terribly short of sleep and need to get to bed soon so it may not be my best!Miggy

And I forgot to say - if you pay off debt best by taking it more slowly and allowing yourself treats, then that's the best way for you. No good being so abstemious you end up binging and feeling terrible. Much better to go slower, not feel so deprived, and really enjoy those treats you do give yourself, really celebrate them! If you go out for a meal, go for one you will really enjoy. If you buy a DVD, buy one you have wanted for a while. If you buy clothes, plan and don't buy on impulse, etc. etc.Miggy

kittyminx wrote:Miggy is that £1 the total cost? so I can't include things I already have? erm can I join the challenge too??? thought i'd better ask before getting carried away. Where do you find B vitamins again? I can never remember...
Keep us updated!!

B vitamins - theres are lots of them and lots of sources. The vegan one I was thinking of is wholemeal bread (big clue!) which has vitamin B6. Meats and eggs are rich in B vitamins, so are nuts, yeast extract, leafy green veg and lots of other things.
The cheapest way to get wholemeal bread is when the supermarket is selling it off at the end of the day, but it's also cheaper to make your own than to buy it. If your meal had, say, two slices of bread, work out the cost for the bread you use, not the whole lot, - or get a wholemeal bread roll - but it has to be wholemeal or you go short of potential nutrients.
By all means join inMiggy

deliciosa wrote:Miggy: thanks for the challenge, it looks quite hard to me but I will think about it... I am not very good in the kitchen...
does it count if the ingredients actually cost more but I only use one pound worth of them or is that cheating??
Just use a pound of the ingredients... any that are left are part of the cost of another meal. this thing I'm thinking of isn't rocket science at all, it's a very ordinary meal, it's just that I used to share a flat with a vegan and picked up a tip or two on eating for next to nothing and as I'm interested in food and don't eat meat, this one stuck in my head as useful!
For a small amount extra, you can ring the changes on the basic meal too by adding cheese, egg, Worcestershire sauce or whatever, if those are things you have in your cupboards.
Of course you may think of something that fits the bill and is completely different from what I have in mind - that's fine too.
Oh, you are going to be such a great cook one of these days, what with all the Old Style MS ideas!Miggy

I couldn't come earlier because I was at work. Let me try to answer to everyone, but first the good news:
Paypal transfer to my account now confirmed, £77 but I will have to pay ebay fees thats £7 so I gained £70 and I won't even miss the stuff!
Ebay: I have a rating of 16!!! I got 17 stars but only 16 counts because two came from the same person. I'm so happy about it, poeple like me and my service and say things like "excellent ebayer" etc - its so nice! I am kind of sad I did not list anything now but I ran out of stamps anyhow and then posting would not be free... so I have to collect more before I start selling again. I sometimes get them for free from a friend who also gets them for free but never uses them.
Today I have only spent £1.25. Now you might think I could have spent more but I had a soya latte in the morning (free), an orange (free), another latte (free), lunch: chicken and potatos LOTS (£1.25), then another latte (free), then nothing because the afternoon was crazy and I had to run around the office like a headless chicken, but I like to be busy!!!! and then just now, I had a big glass of orange juice (free), two rye cakes (free), and apple (free) and a handful of almonds (free). I did not get starbucks or naything and didnt go shopping in the evening either!!!
Catt - yeah I AM feeling much better and I recalculated my debt-payback plan allowing myself a little bit more every month and it turns out it only delays my DFD by 2 months and I can be debt free by November latest anyhow if I stick to the new plan. Which makes me feel relieved and happy. Thanks for your support!!!!
miggy: yummmmmyii I just read this and I keep thinking about food.. I am travelling on the weekend so I can only do the challenge next weekend but I was thinking about pasta with tomato sauce. I know its an easy food but its yummy and would be under a pound because pasta would be about 20p and three tomatoes about 50p max plus a little bit of spices thats way below one pound - what do you think?? I like to eat vegetarian food!
amins again? I can never remember...
I will have to buy clothes this month or next.. really. Office clothes, probably from M&s (20% discount, yay!!!) but I have to plan so I dont spend hundreds...
Lookingahead - thanks for coming backI just love the feedback thingy on ebay!!! and you're rgith I won't push too hard because then I will just be unhappy and not having a life. But I decided that I will do everything with a new consciousness: like, when I pay back 100 to a credit card I think of a purchase worth 100 I made two years ago on that card, and I say to myself, this is what I am paying back now, because I DID NOT PAY FOR IT THEN, even though I thoght I did (thats the awful trick of credit cards), so I tried to think about it a few times and actually it makes me appreciate the old item/product/service/whatever I paid for. Like I thought I paid for my business class tickets and thats why I ahve to pay back 220 to that card, and it made me happy to think about how nice it was to travel on business class etc, and then I dont feel like I am throwing that money away, that actually reduces my debt. Its a bit like having it again and it makes paying off debt easier.... sorry about my being so philosophical..
Kitty: ohh yes, I just love lebanese food... and I cant wait to be debt free by xmas.. can you imagine... no debt at all.. just savings, just actual, existing, positive money.. wow. Yeah I posted the ebay things really quickly because I wanted to get rid of them asap to be honest so that I dotn hae to worry about it... and did you see, now I have a 16 score feedback, all positive!!! About the phone, I WILL email more, message more, phone less. this can't go on like this.
Ok I think I covered everything, thank you guys for always coming in, it keeps me going.

Glad you had a good day, and hardly anything spent!
Keep up that attitude and it'll be November before you know it and you'll be debt free in no time!
