Tossed out of a hotel - please help!

cctv tapes are not usually disposed of.Some companies have equipment to wipe them, Unlikely a hotel would.They usually sit there until they are recorded over.Requesting Data on cctv images and GETTING data are 2 different things.As others have noted,THe hotel would have to fuzz out the faces of every other person on the tape at a high cost,to comply with data Protection relating to all the other customers.They most likely will not reply to your letter until the images have been recorded over,and the log will just show the images have been recorded over.It sounds like a good law in theory, but is futile in practice. In addition the images will have been recorded in "time lapse" (every other frame recorded) not "real time" and you would need specialist equipment to view them.Dont waste your time.Good luck with your complaint though.0

I work in a public place and CCTV is re-recorded over every 7 days.Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*
