Tossed out of a hotel - please help!

Unless it is 'wiped' or 'missing'. We don't know how long ago this happened - some places will wipe as quickly as every 20-30 days unless something happens to cause them to switch.

For what it is worth, I do believe the OP. Some receptionists/ night managers can be little hitlers. I mentioned earlier the man I used to work alongside, and he was an absolute nightmare (and he smelt, but that's by the by!). Some people will make a snap judgment for no reason other than that they feel like it.

I would try to contact the manager that you spoke to on the phone that night. Hopefully he will recall the situation, and you will be able to tell him what happened after the phone call.

It is quite possible that the CCTV tape will have disappeared, we used to do this quite often if we had maybe had a sneaky drink whilst on shift! x

timmne, i appreciate your gentle questioning. yes, there's a strong chance he was 'swung', because i am not white. i didn't put that in the OP because i dislike people who leap to such conclusions. i'd rather let the facts speak for themselves.

nej: do you know any legislation i can quote when i ask for the CCTV footage? i think i will put it in the letter, though i have every faith it's been lost...

I think this is totally a case of racism, I would personally take it further. Did you mention his accusations when you saw the police?

I do hope you complain if only for the sake of others who might undergo the same ordeal as you. Someone might even arrive with tired children and this guy is obviously a loony. The hotel chain might be relieved to get some evidence so they can get rid of him fairly.

on reading this i was a bit upset that some people had doubts about the OP's story?
why on earth would OP bother asking advice? bothering to explain his experience if he had done something wrong?
i know i wouldnt.....???

on reading on -it defo looks like racism unfortunately.
although he could have had a bout of paranoia and really thought OP was a suicide bomber???

i once had this experience in a car park with a couple acting very oddly.
i was convinced everyone in the shopping mall was going to die, really really convinced.... (and before i am accused... they were white)
