They always tell many members of staff there won't be a sale at all so that they don't end up spilling the beans about when it will be. That doesn't appear to be a formal policy, but rather the way some managers handle the flow of information, which is why other staffers *do* hear about the sale. It's possible that even some of the managers are actually told and believe this. It's a rather obvious distraction method, lol.

Argh - I seriously hope it's tomorrow, if only for the reason for an end to all this speculation, and will-it won't-it posts!!
So many people have said it's definitely happening tomorrow.... so many have said it's definitely not... and nearly all "from the horses mouth" quotes from people who know Boots staff!!!

As in previous years, the powers that be at Boots love to keep us guessing! This year is no different. The only way there would be concrete evidence one way or another is if they took out an ad telling us when the sale starts, and like someone has already said, that would take all the fun out of it!! So I think the answer for us all is to just keep calm about it all, stop the endless asking when it's going to happen, stop taking everything that someone else heard as gospel, and just go instore (or even check on here) tomorrow!

I don't think this Boots thread has moved off the first page today infact I don't think it's gone more than three threads down the first page.. Does anyone know why, is it something to do with the 75% off sale that is or is not starting tomorrow?

Will see what happens during the night and continue to chuckle at this thread with all the "it's on or "it's not on" posts.

Although I have regularly shopped the online and in store sales, it's only been this year that I have really been drawn into all of this, I guess being off incapacitated from work for 3 months has helped. I have already said to my OH that I'll have to take a couple of weeks off before Xmas this year to grab the bargains!! So thanks to all who have announced glitches and bargains.

the reason the online stocks are gone is that the Boots warehouse moved and all Xmas stock was sent to the stores.

Wed 16th Jan 2008 (3rd wednesday of the new year)
Wed 14th Jan 2009 (2nd wednesday of the new year)
Wed 20th Jan 2010 (3rd wednesday of the new year)
Wed 19th Jan 2011 (3rd wedneday of the new year)

I would put my money on weds the 18th this year personally! But you never know... boots could do something totally different this year
