An interesting test report from 2003 quotes that Isofix is no safer than a correctly fitted conventional seat. It's main advantage is that it takes away the margin of error by making it virtually impossible to incorrectly fit the seat.
This being the thing , lots of seats are not fitted properly. Lots of places will "fit" your seats for you and you end up with buckle crunch and all sorts . When I bought my 19 month old daughters seat from H*lfords I let the girl (17 yr old) "fit" it for me . I could slide my seat about side to side and forwards . I was told this is how it should be ! I then showed her exactly how to fit the seat , Maxi Cosi Priori XP , such an easy seat to fit and showed her that after I had fitted the seat I had no movement at all . I trust my judgement over any sales assistant any day of the week . ( NO disrespect to any SA's out there )Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .

Hello,
I just would like to share information after watching the video. Britax Regent (recomended) is NOT approved for UK or EU, so beware before you export it from States (as I wanted).
There are alternative products, and one on them is Britax Elite, or you can go to http://www.britax.co.uk/SpecialRequirements.jsp where they have 2 more options for special requirements.
My son is very active and I must have something that will hold him properly. Was shocked after watching that video.Have you got something to share - Do it.

Hello all
What's buckle crunch?
Ta0 -
This is copied and pasted from this website http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/choosing/common_problems.htm#buckle
Buckle Crunch
If the seat belt buckle lies across the frame of the child seat it will be under pressure and may spring open in an impact. Only seatbelt webbing should be in contact with the frame of the child seat.
Solution
Make sure you have fitted the child seat according to the manufacturer's instructions and that the seat belt has been fitted through the correct route guides on the seat.
If the child seat has an 'alternative belt route' for use with shorter seats belts, see if this route avoids the buckle crunch.
If using the front seat, put the seat as far back as it will go.
In some cars, it is possible to adjust the height of the seat belt (on the door pillar) - try lowering the height adjuster if one is fitted.
Try the child seat in other positions in the car to see if there is a better fit.
Check with the child seat and car manufacturers that the child seat is suitable for your car. If not, use a different child seat (or car) that is compatible.
Hope this helpsBaby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .

This seat is too much like the Britax Trio which didn't score well on the crash test report , I would go for something like the Britax Evolva 123/123 Ultra or the Recaro Young Sport .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
