Halfords child seats

Hi ,
I think they are both fairly new seats as there are not that many HBB (high backed boosters) with Isofix . Saying that though , and this is only my opinion , I would imagine they are safe as Isofix is the best option for any car seat (so long as you have Isofix in your car) , they are fitted rigidly to the actual car and so long as they are fitted correctly there should be no movement at all .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

Don't worry, your links were fine and your posts are still there.
The spammer that tom188 referred to was a different post, which has now been removed so you can't see the post he was referring to.0 -

See I told you I needed time to wake up ! lol . That really brings it down to the Evolva 2-3 and the Jane Indy Plus then for an Isofix HBB .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .

Correct me if im wrong but the weight is the most imprtant thing ro go by as thats how they are tested not the age of the child0 -
Thats correct , they are tested on weight not age .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .

Yes thats right, my kids are nearly 6 and 4 so I want something that will last for quite a while. My son is in a Britax Elite still in a harness but not for long. And I prefer an isofix fixture. Will now compare the Evolva and the Jane - thanks0

Just to clear things up.... (I work in this field)
Weight is more important in 5-point harness. If your child exceeds the weight limit DO NOT use the 5-point harness as the belts and fixing are not designed to withstand the load of a heavier child and could fail/snap in an impact.
As far as I can remember (and it is memory so I could be wrong) the Evolva 123 I have says the 5-point harness can be used up to 18kgs, after that weight you remove the harness and just use the adult seatbelt.
The Jane Indy Plus is NOT an isofix seat, it still relies on the adult seatbelt to retain the child, it does however use and isofix attachment to attach it to the car, but because you have to use an adult seat belt, not an integral harness it cannot be classed as ISOFIX.
Now, I'm not sure an isofix booster seat is the best thing anyway. In the event of a crash I would prefer the seat to slide forwards with my child in it, so that the seat stops the belts digging too deeply into my child. If the booster seat is ISOFIX and is restrained from moving, the child will slide forwards and the adult seatbelt will restrain the child, but because the seat hasn't moved the features on the seat which prevent the belt digging into the child will not be there. Just my thoughts.....0 -
The Jane Indy Plus IS an Isofix seat . All Isofix seats rely on you still having to harness your child in by either the integral harness or the adult seat belt . Isofix just refers to the way the car seat itself is fixed into the car , if its an Isofix seat you use the Isofix points in the car to attach the seat to the actual car , if it a non-Isofix seat you use the 5 point/lap belt to hold the car seat onto the seat of the car .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
