I bought concorde lift evo pt, came out best in eurotest 2006, both my 3 and 6 year old have them, my 6 year old says its very comfortable, seems to offer a lot of side protection to body and head.
Too many children, too little time!!!

Is the hi-liner safe for a 3/4 year old? Not sure after watching the video
The carseat itself is quite uncomfortable. Limited padding and my daughter finds the head support very claustrophbic and annoying. Very difficult to see out of the window and hard and unyielding (not saying it should be 'yielding' but when on a long journey the child should be comfortable). As she always fiddles with the uncomfortable head support, the polestyrene has crumbled away and snapped off. She has done nothing but complain about this seat since the day we got it.
It also states quite clearly that it is suitable for age 4 and up. (Some carseats detail Age 3 and 15kg, others 4 and 15kg.) Britax quite clearly state age 4.

I see there is a hi-liner on ebay with isofix...I didn't realise you could get one with isofix. My toddler has an isofix seat and I love it. You don't need to worry about seat belt failure or human error fixing the seatbelt. Wish I had found these first!
  • This seat to my knowledge has never been an Isofix seat , this is however being sold by a Ford dealer specially aiming at Ford's but I will ring Britax on Monday just to double check . Britax have however brought out the Evolva 2-3 ( which is replacing the Highliner ) in an Isofix version now which is worth noting of you have Isofix in your car .

If you think about it logically the safest place for a car seat would be in the midle seat at the back as if you have a side impact you are far away from the doors.
  • I have just figured out my Almera Tino has isofix on the outer seats at the back. I have all 3 of my kids in car seats at the back. My near 6 year old is in the Graco high backed booster, ds who is nearly 4 is in a Britax Elite with a 5 pt harness - soon to outgrow, and dd age 12 mths in her M&P Primo Viaggio infant seat, again soon to outgrow.

I want to get rid of the Graco and keep it as a spare and get two isofix car seats for my older two as the youngest can go in a Britax Eclipse (from the other two) in the centre with a 5 pt harness.

The question is which one to go for and which one will fit, so that's my next step.

Thanks Natalie for the reports, very informative - I need to find out where to go locally to get the best opinion on which car seats will be best for my car. It's a tight fit but I love the Tino and dont' want to move onto a 7 seater just yet!
  • Just looking around at the number of isofix carseats that convert to a booster after 18kg - is the Evolva 2-3 just one of them? Im looking to spend £300 for two car seats and a bit concerned that after I buy them, a better one will be out on the market.

The Hi liner was reduced to £13.75 in Tesco, I phoned 7 stores but none in stock :(
