Halfords child seats

A five point harness wouldn't have saved that childs life. It was the car seatbelt that failed, so ANY seat would have been ejected from the car.
In some cases you can't use a 5-point harness. My daughter is 3 but is over 18kgs and there is no seat on the market which has a five point harness that will take that weight. We have an evolva123, but have had to remove the 5-point harness from the seat as she exceeds the weight range for it.0 -

Well my sister has this seat and her 3 yr old boy is about 45lbs in weight and the harness will still go round him , I know that they say the weight limit is 40lbs for the harness but it doesn't harm to have that little bit more protection that it offers as well as the standard seat belt .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

This is what you need to stop him undoing the belt , http://www.kiddicare.com/invt/xdlsunmty?D=seat+belt&Ntt=seat+belt&Ntk=primary&y=0&N=0&x=0
That is just a ratchet to take slack out of the belt, if they can undo the seat belt they will be able to undo the harness.0 -

You are pretty much limited to the Britax First Class SI or the Concord Ultimax both of which have been crash tested although the Concord hasn't been crash tested by Which , they tested all the other Concord seats though ! You can however watch their own crash test videos on the Concord Website . PM me your email address and I will send the Which report through to you okBaby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .

Thanks for the info you sent natalie1974, had a look on the Halfords site and they appear to have those buckle protectors in online anyway need to compare both sites for best value. Thank you for emailing the which? report very kind of you. Not had a good look at it yet though.0

Thank-you for sending the which report natalie1974, spent some time today going through it, then went on the concorde website and found a stockist 15 miles away. Bought 2 this afternoon from them and they were cheaper than the online prices. Woman in the shop said that there are plans to have the law changed so that booster seats can no longer be used (thats just the base ones). When my 6 year old came out of school she took one look and asked why she had to go back in a car seat so I whispered in her ear and when her friend passed she proudly said 'my mummy loves me so much she wants me to be as safe as I can possibly be!' Then she jumped in a buckled up.Too many children, too little time!!!0

I would just like to say that this rachet is very good for ensuring that the seat does not move around. I have one in my car and the seat is so secure.
Its worth every penny to invest in one of these.0
