How does everyone end up cashing in there spare change? I know there is the coinstar machines but they charge 8.9p in every pound.
There is also the bank but for me this isn't the best way cause they will only accept a few bags at a time which means several long trips. Is there any other ways that people use?
you can use it in the self-serve tills in supermarkets to pay for bits and bobs.
have finally had it confirmed that we need a new roof:eek: 2k is not going to cut it! so, we are on a mission to sell EVERYTHING and spend NOTHING for the next few months......0 -

I count every half pound a triumph! Double triumph if I keep it off.
It isn't impossible but it can be hard work. Have you tried doing a food diary? I did this when I lost weight successfully a couple of years ago and it helped me not have all those oddments that I wasn't really taking into account.I wrote the food I'd had and the calorific value, and the calories were the hard part because how do you work out calories in a portion of home made casserole? :rotfl:Nearly drove me to distraction but at least my cooking was low fat so it wasn't the casseroles that did the damage.
I did that alongside the Biggest Loser Wii game so I suppose I must have boosted my metabolism with all that exercise too, but the food diary in itself can be useful.Miggy

Well after 2 weight gains of a total of 3lb since I started the challenge, tonight I finally had a weight loss of 2lbs. I've adjusted my signature to reflect this, just so I know where I am up to with it. (I've also put my starting weight to make it easier for me to keep tabs.
Savings increased by £30 for a focus group and £115 in birthday cash. If I add it to my total at least I feel I have benefited from it instead of spending it on everyday stuff. Signature will now show my updated totals so far.
Hope Mr B is OK, not seen him on here for ages now. Hope all is well.Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you0 -
£5 profit from a couple of Ebay sales. Have also had a breakthrough that I don't actually need an mp3 player that holds a bazillion songs, can secure a much smaller one for less than £40. I am still trying to save as much as I can for the challenge as there are a few items for the house that I would like to buy as well.
Haven't weighed myself again yet, will definitely do this over the weekend as I need to find out how much I have put on and tackle it. Have at least resumed eating more healthily and I'm keeping a food journal again.0 -

I use any of the following ways:- swop with DD2 for pound coins from her piggy bank - she can then bank it in her savings account - unlimited amount of change accepted for childrens accounts
- use it to pay DD2 subs for guides , orchestra etc
- pay milk man with it - always happy to receive change
- make overpayments on CC at bank with bags of change if I am in town
- use in self serve checkouts in Mr T and Mr M
- swop in work for £2 coins to go into £2 saving pot
:)
