    Message to th OP.

I havent read all of the comments on here but in regards to the original question/point made.

Must be nice to know that you share your problem with a rather famous lady, isn't it?

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Has anyone any good ideas for how to make my husband's Christmas day in hospital as cheerful as possible?

Maybe you could ask Liz for some tips.
  • Well, one must do ones duty. To the OP, as a fellow woman with husband in hospital and as your Regent...

    - One must remember to keep a stiff upper lip, at all times. Remember you are an Englishwoman, and as such have won first prize in the lottery of life.

    - One must provide ones partner with amusing distractions. For example, jokes about errant daughter in laws, or Indian electricians, or how the Commonwealth is deteriorating can be very wholesome and welcome.

    - One must take care of ones health, through a variety of healthy activities such as walking corgis, not smoking, and not getting into speeding Mercedes whilst in tawdry liaisons with sons of shopkeepers.

    - One must attend to ones duties whilst attending ones partner, and take care of ones appearance. One must wear a perfectly polished twin set and tiara wherever appropriate.

  • Just an update: we took his dinner, crackers to pull, decorated his side table with a small tree and a santa.
The hospital was great. Every patient got a wrapped present and then in the evening Herbert Howe gave everybody a box of chocolates. He runs a charity in his mother's name ; 'Queenies'. My daughter's eyes filled up to see such kindness.
Missed him at the table at home though.
