A Ford Fiesta 1.8 (non TD) diesel. Absolute piece of garbage.

It had done 100k, was on a P plate (1996) and everything just broke. Literally everything.

A friend steered me towards British cars, and 4 years later I haven't looked back. Had all sorts of Rovers / MGs now (so cheap!) and never really had major issues.

The day I'll own another Ford is when hell freezes over.

  • Has to be a Mk2 Toyota Yaris 1.4 Diesel, MMT I purchased new in 2010.
Too reasons, one the MMT has to be the worst invention ever, devised by someone who hasn't a clue and a sacrifice on the altar of CO2. Two, the interior assembled like a Lego incarnation in which the thin hard plastics creak, rattle, squeak except when they've actually fallen off! In fact Lego is better quality plastic and doesn't fall to pieces! Even the damn front floor squeaked and that's only covered in carpet and soundproofing.

Yes, I remember your past comments about the MMT, not very Toyota, I can only wonder if the MMT is a European technology that Toyota implemented and not something of the core Japanese design.

I heard many users of the D4D guise has clutch and DMF problems popping as the car gets older (modern older= 7 years compare with old older= 15 years).
Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

I never had any issue with the clutch arm on my BX, just the hydraulics. I got to know my local independant specialist very well.

I also had a V. Carlton 2.0 Estate with auto-box. The starter motor used to stick on. Luckily my F-in-L had a spare starter from a Cortina Mk4 1.6 that fitted perfectly.

Can't remember who mentioned Beetles, but it was the screen wash bottle that was powered by the spare wheel, not the wipers themselves.

  • gotta be for me, a hateful bmw 525. nothing wrong with the car, and all worked as it should, but i just hated everything about it, it just was not as good as it should have been, and that made it terrible. In the end a bloke in a lada flashed me out of a petrol station and a truck overtook the lada and drove over the front of the beemer... i have never been so happy to have a serious crash in all my life. the most depressing thing was i'd just filled it full of fuel.
