What is the worst car you ever owned, and why?

  • Worst - An 1989 Rover MG Metro
    Best - Renault 2.0ltr Clio 182, (I miss the 0-60 in 6.2 secs :()

I really do miss the acceleration and handling skills of the car, i use to remember having someone new in the car driving below 4,000rpm where it seemed a normal car. Then once you would get onto open roads, let it rise about 4,400rpm and you could feel the car pulling from the steering wheel. Usually by this point its racing up towards 4-5-6-7000rpm before demanding the next gear, meanwhilst the passenger is stuck in the seat.

Whilst travelling around cadwell park, i noticed it would peak out about 112-115mph in 4th gear. :) Hello family, Bye Bye car.

I'm not. I have owned ONE and wasn't especially pleased with it (see previous post).

But I'm not daft enough to extrapolate that to all Vauxhalls.

Hell, I'm not even prepared to say that all Renaults are rubbish, and I've known at least a dozen people have serious problems with them! :rotfl:

    [ ] Yawn.
    [ ] More yawns.

COLOR=#ff0000]X[/COLOR I was in a 60 plate Astra for 6 hours last night. Hard uncomfortable ride and cornered like a baby buggy. I rest my case.

    [ ] I still hate Vauxhalls.
    [ ] Yet more yawns.
Don't grow up. Its a trap!

    Peace, love and labradors!
  • Some very interesting deleting going on this morning. I accused Jase of solely posting about Vauxhalls just to back up his little friend Mikey. He replied he wasn't because the've crossed swords in the past. I replied saying he was a bandwagon jumper and then all those posts disappeared while I was out with the dog.

Was it because the posts didn't mention cars? Hmmmmm ok then.

I used to have a 1L Nova which was equally rubbish! I liked it because it was my first car and i didn't know any better but it was awful. Had lots of problems with points and condensor(sp?) and would just lose power going along the motorway.

Another good reason to avoid Vauxhalls.

The posts were deleted because of the offensive nature of some of your replies, not because they didn't mention cars.

The only bit I forgot to put in was when I told Jase that posting to back up his friend was pathetic and not really the behaviour one should expect from a grown man!

    Is that offensive then?

    Oh really?

There was nothing offensive in what I have posted today or any other day since I started using this account again. In fact I've repeated it almost word for word in my last post but one.

There has to be more to it. Jase's post to me wasn't offensive either and that's gone as well.

    Time will tell I expect.

It looks like the moderators didn't agree with you.

They presumably just react to what people report. Didn't realise I was debating the quality of Vauxhalls with such sensitive little flowers. ;)

Good job we're not all like that! :rotfl:

Mt parents sent me the money to buy a car when I was at uni. Typically I partied most of it then remembered the car. Bought an old old mini from the local paper. More hits than the beetles and ended up being two cars welded into one. Not nice, My parents went mental. Thank god time heals and they laugh about it now. Well hey it was 20 years ago!
