A trabbant me and my mates in Germany bought for a tenner each, but we used it to drive to Holland almost every other weekend for about 3 months.

Hmm, I have had a couple of duf old motors.. Personally would NEVER buy another Vauxhall as long as I shall live after a dodgy Omega and then a few cars later a complete pile of trash 03 plate Vectra.

Current vehicle VW Passat TDi (05 plate) which we have had since a year old with no problems at all, next purchase WILL be VW Passat again probably the CC in a couple of years.
ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)
    NOV 2021 O/S AMOUNT £1,694.41 OUR DEBT REDUCED BY £104,759.59 by std regular, over-payments & off-setting.
BofE +0.19% Tracker Repayment Offset Mortgage Discounted Sept 07-10 then increased to BofE +0.62% until 2027

I always thought Omegas were halfway decent motors. A friend has owned a couple while I've known him (and he's minted enough to spend more on a car if he so wished) but both his previous one and this one are ALWAYS in and out of the garage. He used to take them to main dealer but has started using independents as it got ridiculous. Good job he's retired otherwise he'd always be taking time off work to sort the car out! :D

Comfy but unreliable. The car... not my mate.

I'm looking for one of those.
  • To be fair, if I'd bought the Astra I nearly did when I passed my test I'd probably be ranting about it too.

Instead a mate bought it, and had the nightmare from hell just getting the thing in a usable state.

They seem to be down there with Ford for silly problems that shouldn't even exist, I know all manufacturers have problems (I'm a Rover nut, and just look at the K series engine...!) but with Fords and Vauxhalls the list is literally endless. Added to this, when something does go wrong neither seem to take responsibility (1.2 Corsa SXi camshaft bolts anyone?)

Never in my life will I own a Vauxhall, but I'm not going to get into daft arguments online over why this is the case.

What's wrong with suggesting that Brian and I meet up in person to discuss the relative merits of Vauxhalls?

We live within a couple of miles of each other!

Have I missed something here, or have I attracted another hole/bridge dweller.

I think I did post something about you being the only 1 stupid enough to decry a whole brand of cars for reason of 1 bad car plus I think I also said the post was about the worst car not the worst brand. As said above you've lost it, if you ever had it:T
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Nope you called me an idiot which was uncalled for. I reported it and your post was removed.

Still, you've got previous for causing trouble on forums 'Pride of Derby' fishing forum wasn't it that you were unceremoniously booted off? Were you rude to someone on there as well?

You're very brave when you have a computer screen to hide behind aren't you? :rotfl:

You should know better at your age. ;)
