Feet pampered and soft again. Tomorrow will be painting my toenails and a general defuzz for fabiness along with a hair pre wash treatment and mask. Better open that boring book up then for a little bit

I hope everyone is ok today and health problems for self and family as manageable. I don't always comment on this because I don't know what to write however as I don't want to ignore it either I hope today is a good one for us.

Fab plan to today is 2 long dog walks and some fabbiness for me to pep up the boring assignment. The best fabbiness for that would be to write a plan and start writing!

As the blue sky has arrived for a change I think its time to get out for a nice long walk

    HI

WW - have you done the shred before? I was just wondering when you go to the next level is it 30 days a level or go on when you feel ready.

I've done it before but never made it to the end! I think you're supposed to do 10 days at level 1 then 10 days at level 2 etc

No such luck here ! Still pouring:mad: Me and the woofer are getting very fed up with this now.

Not much planned for today - just some schoolwork, dog walking and maybe swimming for a change of exercise. My back is a bit achey so this is probably a good idea, it normally sorts it out.
I did a proper defuzz last night so can now be seen in a swimsuit without being mistaken for a yeti!:o

Right, better phone dad (Fathers Day) and get on with something. Hope everyone has a good day.

Well, I'm feeling very pleased with myself:)
Went swimming for the first time in months and months (maybe even a year) with the intention of just plodding along and seeing how it went and managed 3/4 of a mile without stopping at a fast pace:T Thats 48 lengths without a breather:j
Did an extra 2 as a warm down so 50 in total - wasn't that bad at all. Could hear blo*dy Jillian Michaels from the Shred ringing in my ears... "you feel stroooong, when it hurts is when its making a difference!". Even though the Shred doesn't feel that long to do (20 mins at a time) its obviously making a difference to my fitness levels. Its encouraged me to go again and push myself further, next time I'm aiming for 64 lengths - thats a mile.

Didn't feel that bad in a swimsuit amazingly - no slim jim by any means but not like a massive elephant either.

Only problem is I'm starving now!

    WW - go you!

As for me a long 70 min dog walk this morning and 10min yoga to stretch off very tight back of quad muscles for some reason

Managed to write an essay plan so thankfully something is starting to fall into place at long last.

Anyway onwards and upwards I go with it. Sky has clouded over and is back to grey and dark again.

See you all later as I attempt a couple of hours reading

Sparkles - can I ask how you lost your weight? You seem to have concentrated on exercise but I'm not sure what you did/do foodwise? Did you just cut down and be sensible or did you do any particular diet?
This time around I'm trying to up the exercise (and doing ok so far) and be more sensible about what I eat - not diet as such but trying not to scoff as much rubbish and eat between meals.

Any help you can give would be much appreciated as you seem very sensible about this type of thing!:)

:T:T:T:T Well done you, that is great! I was up to 38 lengths and was happy with that :p Maybe I'll do 40 tomorrow. How long did it take you? I'm normally in for just 30-35 mins and don't swim very fast lol

I joined Sainbugs Diets and used the food diary option rather than meal plan and it evetually kicked in with what I needed to change in my diet. I had no idea what amounts of fat and calories were contained in the food I ate then. It was hard work at first and then eventually the weight started to come off after about 3mths and then carried on at a very gradual rate. It made me eat more fruit and veg and salad as part of the changes as this was a habit I had grown out of over the years.

Later on it twigged about increasing the activity levels and I started increasing my dog walks to a much healthier level for me and the dog. Then everything else fell into place to get me to where I am now one year and one month on from where I started.

Started at around a 14 and maybe a 16 in some things but I would never have admitted this or put a size 16 on but looking back I think I was almost there. All I wanted to was to get back into my size 12 things.

I got there by November 2011 and then my shape carried on changing with the exercise as I've more or less maintained since then give or take a few pounds either way. Then it became clear I was a size 10 which I never expected at all and then last month it became clear some size 8's also fitted. Something else I never expected at all!

All of that was due to exercise and not returning to old eating habits of chocolate, chips and crisps. They were the things I swapped and I don't eat chips or proper crisps any longer and have found much nicer (for me) alternatives. Still eat quite a bit of chocolate. I do control it though and keep it to relatively small amount. I still eat treats too, for me its about keeping a healthy balance.

Really the thing that has stuck with me was keeping active - do exercise, eat healthy and enjoy how I feel as a result and if I want a treat I'll have one, not the lot and not one everyday as its not a treat then!

    2 x 70min walks
    10min yoga

    Reading for assignment - tick!
    Assignment plan - tick!
    Toenails painted - tick!

Next is another chapter out of the book, then a bit of fabbing for me, of face mask and so on while watching to the football

Thanks for the info Sparkles - its certainly worked for you.
I'm trying to stick to sensible portions of healthy foods, fewer snacks and treats and a lot more exercise - which won't be difficult considering that the only exercise I really did before was walk the dog. This past week I have done something (Shred or swim) for 5 days out of 7 and hope to do at least that this week.
I've joined the OS weightloss thread to try to keep me on track.

I think it took about 38 mins for 50 lengths of a 25m pool. The last 2 lengths at a swimming stroll to cool down and get my breath back. I was pleased with that as I haven't been for ages.
My goal is to eventually do a mile a couple of times a week in approx 40-45 mins (the faster the better).

So the exercise plan for this week is
Monday (long day at work usually with extra meetings) - Shred
    Tuesday - swim
    Weds - Shred
Thurs -Shred and maybe a new yoga class if I'm brave enough to go
Fri - maybe a class at the leisure centre or Shred (again!)

    Fingers crossed xx
