I didn't end up doing my hair last night - simply too exhausted; it's been done this morning though, so the silver stripe is all gone for now.:D

Mr LW is currently mowing the [STRIKE]wilderness[/STRIKE] back lawn; I've made a Shepherd Spy and an apple crumble, which are currently in the oven, so we'll be eating shortly.

While we were in Northampton yesterday I did a major raid on the herb/spice shop, so my cupboard has been replenished; also managed to get some valerian tablets on BOGOF.:money:

I forgot to mention when I posted last night (was too tired to think straight) there was a stall on the market with a tombola to raise funds for a local animal charity, so of course we had a go, and won a set of 4 champagne flutes and a pot of lavender talcum powder.:D They also had an "ambassador" dog with them - a deaf Great Dane, named Molly, who I would quite happily have brought home with me!:rotfl: It's just fortunate that we have some champagne in the fridge to go in the glasses....:rotfl:

WW I hope you managed to get all your marking done, so that you can have a nice restful Sunday.;)

Snap with the freshly dyed hair! Aren't we all gorgeous?! And congrats on the wins - a Great Dane is a little bit too big to hide under your coat as your steal him away isn't he? I used to walk a Great Dane called Scooby for an old lady - he was lovely but huge!!! It was a bit like being walked by a pony!

Marking all done (took 2.5 hours)- there is another less urgent pile waiting for me but I'm not sure that I have the patience to do that today too.:o
Just a Chemistry test to write now and then I'm all ahead of myself for the next few weeks workwise. (Until I go back tomorrow and get given another million jobs to do:rotfl:).

Did anyone else watch the new Ricky Gervais thing called Derek last Thurs? I've just watched whilst having lunch and thought it was very good - very sensitive subject matter (a "special needs" man working in an old people's home) done very well and quite moving yet funny in places. Apparently there's been a bit of a controversy about it.

    Hello everybody,

I've been reading this thread frequently this year. I am indecisive about the term "frump" but I do call myself this often along with other unpleasant names. I think this is due to not feeling good about myself, dealing with health problems everyday, a vulnerability to "bad" habits that then contradict my strong efforts and also my age.

Consequently, it is time to feel "fab", not stay "stuck" and achieve worthwhile self-transformation. May I therefore join you in this thread please?

My ideas today are meal planning, exercise, pottering in the kitchen and a nice bath with a purchased favorite soap.

Welcome back boultdj and welcome aboard dannie!

As for me had a rather fabulous Sunday morning with a friend for the 10k race. Was ace. Bright, sunny and chilly spring morning with 1500 runners all ready to go for 9am. Really enjoyed the whole thing and so pleased I entered it. not a bad time either of 52mins for 6miles so quite pleased as that's my usual time for that distance.

Anyway have treated myself to plenty of food to top up energy levels of treats and a proper lunch of leftover stir fry - felt much better afterwards as I nearly ran out of energy at the end of the race.

Have since, showered and washed hair, done the same to the dog, cleaned the bathroom, swept and mopped the floors. done loads of washing now out on the line and dog's stuff about to go out now.

Only thing left to do is hoover around again and empty into the bin ready for collection then house is fabbed up again nicely.

Have also filed and buffed my nails back to a reasonable condition and popped some balm onto the nails and hands as they really needed that.

just debating whether to walk up to the shop for a bit of fruit and salad for this week then off out wiht the dog for a walk and then out of my bike for a bit if I feel up to it which I hope I am

Then I might get around to doing a bit more of my assignment later on - always last on the list. Especially when I still feel giddy from how great this morning was!

Sparkles - I'm exhausted just reading about your day. How I wish I had those energy levels. Maybe one day I will get back up to a decent level again.

Came back early from visiting OH because he was very tired today. Some friends popped in to see him this morning. Two lots of visitors in a day is lovely of course but, after getting up at 7-00 am to watch the Chinese Grand Prix, he was done for.

Welcome Danni - don't worry about defining the word "frump" it's all about how fab you are going to feel that is important. And ......no more calling yourself horrible names. ;)

Well done on the hair dyeing ladies, a nice start to the week.

I didn't watch the Ricky Gervaise thing - might see if I can find it on catch up. This week and next there are a couple of Louis Thereaux documentaries. This week it's Autism and next week it's Dementia. I like Louis - he tackles difficult subjects in a measured and even handed manner, although the dementia one might be a bit close for comfort for me - we've been warned that this might happen to OH.

Right off to cook, and settle down for a nice rest this evening.

There's Walkabout on BBC4, Homeland, Top Gear, House, Game of Thrones, Silent Witness. The record function will be working overtime.

Why is it they put all the good stuff on together and there's nothing but garbage on the rest of the time. At least I can record and replay at my leisusre.

    Bye for now x

PS meant to say Sparkles - well done on the race - great time too.

Thanks for the well done -LL - and hope you pick up again. I'm sure you will, it takes time I know. I feel completely different these days to how I did 3 years ago believe me, it took another year to start things off in a new direction but I took it and I got there and I hope you do too.

Well I did walk up to the shop, picked up fruit and stuff for lunches this week to take to uni instead of the overpriced stuff from the canteen. Then took Mr dog out for 40mins and then went out on my bike for 25mins at a fairly quick pace

Treated myself to a creme egg on my return after I bought 2 90p easter eggs with 2 in and chocolate egg for rewards after my long runs and half marathon training over the next few weeks

Now feeling quite tired - but in a good way, not drained at all but physically tired after a great day and weekend being busy and active. Think I'll have a nice repairing bath now while listening to the football and then it will be an early night once I've got my uni stuff ready to go and a hot chocolate.

Then will try really hard to stay away from chocolate for a few days. I've meal planned for uni days as they are long days and easy teas. Then I'm off at the end of the week to write the next lot of assignments and haven't worked out what I'll have then but I'll have 3 days off chocolate and creme eggs anyway!

Thanks for the welcome fedupandskint and lessonlearned.

What a busy and energetic day fedupandskint. I also did two lots of cycling exercises (7 miles outdoors and one hour indoors). Always feel better for it although energy levels vary so tough mainly.

lessonlearned - Yes, okay I'll focus on the "fab" bit. Yes, I know it is terrible what I say and feel disgusted about it.

I also like to watch certain types of tv programmes and will do so shortly whilst planning tomorrows "fabbing".

Aww fanks, for all the well done's, you're all making me smile, more than I am already after how much of a great day it's been.

Think I'm going to do it again next year. Hoping so and my friend really enjoyed it too and think she will go again too. It was a lovely run with a friendly warm up session and happy smiley people and a nice size total number of runners too so not too squashed or having to walk for long periods of time once we thinned out a little from the start.

First time I've done this - it was on my TIFTFT list for this year (Try It For The First Time) along with the half marathon and some other things I've forgotten - must find them out!

Add me to that list please sparkles, I think your energy is amazing. Thanks for explaining TIFTFT. I was trying to work it out (and the Fs ranged from Forty to lots of rude words). When you've checked the list perhaps you'd share it with us, preferably not all the energetic things!;)

P.S. Good to see you dannie and boultdj.

Hi bouldtj and maman - thanks for the welcome.

bouldtj - I notice your "still to do" plan includes gardening and exercise. My approach today probably will involve these.

maman - Yes I am curious about "TIFTFT" mentioned by fedupandskint. Always have thought that doing different things has been helpful, although now (my early days to "defrumping"); it seems difficult breaking out of my usual (?"frumpy") pattern.
