Are you looking to switch careers - are you sure you are not secretly planning to join the SAS. :rotfl:
All those big strapping men? Its a possibility!:D
In the spirit of economising I've been shopping and managed to spend just £10.80 on groceries for the week including £3.20 on some half price Dove shampoo and conditioner. So just around £7 on food, soap and washing up liquid, mostly from Aldi.
I also managed to get my hair dye on BOGOF so a bargain there too. Just got to dye it now.....:o
LL - hope you're soreness doesn't last too long.
Lizzie - I know what you mean about the ladies here being really supportive and in some ways better than RL friends - I haven't told most of my few RL friends about joining the groups and doing all of the new things yet - I don't really know why, I suppose its because they may laugh at me or think I'm sad? I want to find my feet with the groups first and establish a few friendships there before revealing it to the world......daft isn't it?
But you lot know exactly what I'm doing and have been nothing but encouraging- thank you.xx0 -
Awwww, he'd be welcome any time!:DWelshWoofer wrote: »I had a dream that LW was going to look after my dog when I go on holiday!:rotfl:
I do so know the feeling; my so-called "best friend" invariably manages to swing the conversation round to all HER problems, and I end up feeling worse than when I started! And paying for the hour-long phone call it takes for her to give me all the minutiae, despite the fact that she's financially in a better place than I am; but hey ho, that's life. Fwiw Lizzie, I'm only a pm away if you need me. xI may not have RL friends I can rely on but being able to offload on here has been a godsend.:) x
The good news - the Jazz passed her MoT with flying colours. The not-so-good news - I was in too much pain to drive to the garage; I wouldn't have been safe.:( She needs some new tyres, too; Mr LW is picky about tyres so they're being ordered, and she's going back to have them fitted next Saturday, after my Dr appointment. I'll send Mr LW on his own and get on with some housework, as it'll not take a long time to fit a couple of tyres.;)
Right now, I need to grab some more morphine, and hopefully the pain will subside enough for us to wallop some dye on my hair - I'm currently back to the red'n'silver badger effect!:D
Ooh - WW, I abseiled off the roof of the John Radcliffe Hospital back in 2002, to raise money for the Blue Cross, and I absolutely loved it - I wanted to go back up for another go! It's exhilarating; trust me!:D Mr LW, who is terrified of heights, stood on terra firma and took pictures!:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
A lovely bike ride today there and back in 6 miles. The smaller frame size is much much better and comfier and easier.
Its the 10k race tomorrow morning then might get out on the country water park trail later on in the day depending on how I feel and how the weather is.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
sparkles - Good luck with the race tomorrow.
OH in good spirits this afternoon. Just going to do another 30 mins decluttering - that spare bedroom is the like the Forth Bridge.:rotfl:No sooner have I finished one end, then it's start again at the other. At least it keeps my bedroom neat and clutter free.
WW Well done on the grocery shopping. I'm all well stocked up so am aiming to stick to £10 per week until the end of April too.
LW - good news on the Jazz.0 -

Welcome back Boultdj! Shimmy on back to us!
Lovely day here up north so far - I actually managed a good sleep last night - not a really long one but 6 hours of unbroken kip - can't remember the last time that happened. It did mean I was up at 6.30am though, wide awake and raring to go. Its amazing what a difference a proper rest makes to you.
The dog has been to the park for an hour, I've dyed my hair (hate that job!) and showered, cleaned the bathroom and put a wash on.
Next on the list for today is to mark 30 GCSE internally assessed practical exams:eek: - I should have done this at the beginning of the holidays but just couldn't face it - now the deadline (my own) for getting them done is tomorrow so I need to crack on with them.
I spoke to the decorator yesterday and he amazed (and panicked) me by saying that a lot of his upcoming work is outside and so if the weather is bad this week he can do the living room at the end of the week - arrgghh! It needs to be done but I thought it would be a few weeks away! I'll find out on Tuesday evening about when he's coming. The carpet will be in the shop by the end of the week and the curtains, cushions and furniture are on the way so I suppose it will all fall into place but I'm not looking forward to the mess and disruption -I keep telling myself it will be worth it once its done:o
Right enough procrastination, marking here I come...........0 -
LL- is there a Women's Institute near you
Thanks LL after reading this I had a search around on internet and found they are having an open day type thing near me next Sat, so am going to go along and have a look. I confess I do have the old fashioned image of the WI in my head but from the activities on the day it sounds like they have updated. Even if I find it isn't for me I'll have had a afternoon out.:)
LW- Fwiw Lizzie, I'm only a pm away if you need me. x
Thankyou LW and it's very kind of you.

This made me smile - you should have seen me on the city wall at York -I'm terrified also, but the kids wantes to walk on the wall so after a false start I took a deep breath and hugged the wall:o. The kids were really embarassed. :rotfl:
Hope you managed to get your hair done and it hasn't aggravated your condition too much.
Just taking it easy over the weekend -walking the dog and watching DS 's footie later. Then it's back to chasing DWP mon.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone. xFrump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Welcome back Bouldtj. Don't worry about going awol for a while.
Just get back on the wagon.;)
If at first you don't succeed and all that ....... We all have our ups and downs.
Today hasn't seen the best of starts. Couldn't sleep - was awake till 4.30. Eventually I had to give in and take some Nytol - helped me get off to sleep ok, however didn't wake until after 10-00 feeling all hung over and groggy and have struggled to get going.
Am sitting here with my hair in rollers, trying to rescue it without washing it - trying not to wash hair quite so often. I was back up to washing hair every day and I don't think it helps. Plus of course it is very time consuming.
Also sitting here with a nutrient packed soya milk/banana/mixed fruit shake (home made of course so no nasties) to give me some slow release energy.
I could of course just shove another mug of coffee down my throat but I think I need to reduce my caffeine intake so that I stand more chance of sleeping. Worth a try.
I'm definitely on a mission to try and eat more fruit and veg - I'm a bit guilty of letting that slip sometimes. So I've had two portions already.
Meat in slow cooker, potatoes peeled. Am off to have a hot bath to loosen up, then off to visit OH via the local shop to pick up some more vegetables for tonight's meal.
Instead of eating cake this afternoon with OH I will take a bowl of melon and kiwi. :A
Lizzie - Well done on digging out the info on the WI, you don't have to commit yourself to anything at this stage. If you don't like the look of it it or it's not for you then you've not lost anything.
Anyway must dash - can't sit around in my dressing gown all day:rotfl: - although TBH at the moment that's exactly what I feel like doing.
Have a good day X0 -
I didn't end up doing my hair last night - simply too exhausted; it's been done this morning though, so the silver stripe is all gone for now.:D
Mr LW is currently mowing the [STRIKE]wilderness[/STRIKE] back lawn; I've made a Shepherd Spy and an apple crumble, which are currently in the oven, so we'll be eating shortly.
While we were in Northampton yesterday I did a major raid on the herb/spice shop, so my cupboard has been replenished; also managed to get some valerian tablets on BOGOF.:money:
I forgot to mention when I posted last night (was too tired to think straight) there was a stall on the market with a tombola to raise funds for a local animal charity, so of course we had a go, and won a set of 4 champagne flutes and a pot of lavender talcum powder.:D They also had an "ambassador" dog with them - a deaf Great Dane, named Molly, who I would quite happily have brought home with me!:rotfl: It's just fortunate that we have some champagne in the fridge to go in the glasses....:rotfl:
WW I hope you managed to get all your marking done, so that you can have a nice restful Sunday.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
