Well I went and did it and bought myself a new bike. Its lovely and great and massive too. Can't wait to get out and about on it.

Will take some getting used to and I'm off out on it tomorrow to try it out so no doubt will end up with a bit of a sore bum too! Hoping to feel like a confident bike rider again too so first journey is a lap around the park and see how that goes

Fedup -fab news about the bike - hope today's practice ride goes well! I have a very sore bum and inner thighs today - you too will be walking like John Wayne tomorrow!:p

I finally had almost a proper nights sleep - feel so much better today (apart from the aches and pains).
Not much planned for today - maybe a bit of school work, spot of cleaning in anticipation of mum's arrival tomorrow and some dog walking. I've already done the first walk of the day and the rain held off but it looks like that won't last for long.

I picked up all the books ordered from the library yesterday ready to read for the new book club, will finish the one I'm reading now first (a James Patterson crime thing) before ploughing on with my "homework".

I'm also looking forward to a new little trip out I booked with the Spice lot to the new BBC studios in Salford - you get a tour behind the scenes for a few hours for £9 - bargain. Its not for a few weeks yet but something different to do - still trying to have a go at different things, expanding my horizons and all that!:rotfl:

LL - Be kind to yourself, you are not going to recover overnight are you? Plenty of rest and relaxation, or else! :D

Thanks for the RTW ticket mention, I didn't realise you could get these for around £800, when a return to Australia is £650 plus, I will certainly be looking more into this! Thank you also for the book recommendations, I will see if the library has these. Otherwise they are on my wish list, for when my next Amazon voucher comes through from doing surveys.

WW - All of your Spice events sound fab and it sounds like you are having a great time getting out and about, :) at the John Wayne walking. Fab news on the weight loss as well!

Sparkles - Hope your first bike trip out was successful. I do have a bike, but it is currently neglected in the shed as I really don't like riding along the main roads. When the weather is better, I am going to drive to the forest with the bikes and have a day out and a picnic with my sister.

Lizzie - I have caught up with your blog now, have you written your complaint? Good luck with it and if the MP's office are willing to help, it may be resolved more quickly.

Bitsy - You mentioned about going to the RSC Theatre at Stratford - definitely go, it is fabulous! Our tickets were only about £12 each as we were sat really high up, just prepare to be fleeced at the bar! Hope Luna is settling down a little now and you get some more sleep soon.

Learning a language was mentioned a few days back, just wanted to say I have signed up for the 12 week beginner Spanish course through the BBC website and it is free, they have several other beginner courses too. http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/

Yesterday I had a lovely time as I read a whole book in a day! I can't even remember the last time I just forgot everything and did what I wanted. I also did 30 minutes on the exercise bike (while reading!) and had a long hot bath (not reading as I didn't want to drop book in bath!)

This afternoon I am going over to see parents and grandparents, so hoping to borrow the dog to take for a walk. Gran is going into hospital this week for a shoulder operation, so I will need to take it in turns with Mum to go over and check Grandad is ok. He is pretty independent at home, but he can't walk far, so we will need to go shopping for him and cook his evening meal. There are enough family members available to visit Gran, so we each only need to go once to the hospital for visiting and hopefully she will be home after 5 days. I am worried about the extra fuel costs though as I just can't stretch my budget any further, and food and fuel costs are rising every week. Will need to eat from the freezer and cupboards as much as possible.

I also need to get on with my latest study block as time is ticking on. It would be nice to get it submitted early and not be stressing over it at the last minute. I am going to get on with it for an hour or so now before I go out visiting! Tonight's TV will be 'Once Upon A Time' and 'Homeland', then an early night for me.

Well I did it and went out on my new sparkly bike today!

Decided to go for it on a quite BH Sunday and although I felt quite nervous to begin with I thought I'd stick to the roads and it went well.

Distance was approx 3.5 miles there and 3 miles back on the shorter route.

I loved it! Lovely to leave the car at home and do the journey in more or less the same time cross country rather than round the houses.

Don't feel too bad. I can feel the different muscles in my legs being used rather than the muscles used for running. Recovery afterwards was good though and not too puffed.

Just rewarded myself with half an Easter egg!

    And why not.:D

    Happy Easter Everyone

Just having a little break - in the middle of decluttering my wardrobe.

Lovely to hear about the horse riding and biking. Sounds fab. My sister keeps trying to get me riding again - TBH I'm a bit nervous. Maybe.

Went to see OH earlier but he's not too good so didn't stay long, left him to try and sleep it off. He is rather up and down at the moment I'm afraid, his chest is still very rattily and he still has some pain. He's due (overdue actually) his next batch of intravenous steroids on Tuesday so hopefully he'll pick up again.

    Today's positives

    1. The decluttering bug is catching - DS2 has cleaned out his wardrobe.
    2. My bedroom is tidy. Just need to declutter a couple more drawers and then it's all done.
    3. There's even space now for some new clothes.;)
    4. Yesterday treated myself with some of my easter egg money to a gorgeous trinket box. It's that Venetian mirror style. When I got it home I realised it exactly matches my jewellery box. Fab.

Anyway back to work for me, just finish off and then cook a nice dinner. Then feet up and take it easy.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday.

On the fab front I've just weighed (normal Saturday weigh in) and I've now lost a total of 5lbs.:j I've only really been making an effort for just over 2 weeks so not too bad. As I only want to lose a stone its a nice chunk out of it - 9 lbs to go!

    Welshwoofer well done, that's a great result:j

LameWolf thanks for the picture of Jasper. Gorgeous. :)

WelshWoofer Glad you finally had a proper sleep. Hopefully it'll start a trend and you'll have better nights from now on.

I have been very lazy today. My excuse, if Sunday is the day of rest, Easter Sunday should be the day of extra rest :rotfl:

Thanks for all the wishes for speedy recovery. I'm doing much better. Next week will be back to proper fabbing.

Keep enjoying the seasonal chocolate - its part of looking after ourselves :)

Yes boss! I'm not one to disobey orders so I'll partake of a bit of choccy later on!:rotfl:Thanks for the prompt (as if I needed one!) The diet appears to be on hold this weekend - although today hasn't been too bad, but I WILL have some dark mint chocolate later.

Had quite a productive day - I've nearly finished all of the next half terms physics lessons (yawn...) so that will be a lot less work when I'm back in school. I ended up doing about 6 hours worth of work and didn't really notice the time - sometimes I guess you're just in the zone (not very often when it comes to year 10 physics!)
I also managed three walks with the dog - the longest being about 45 mins so not too bad on the exercise front. I've fabbed upstairs ready for mum's visit - all sparkly clean now - and will do downstairs in the morning.

I need to do my nails tonight, they're looking a bit tatty. Will do them whilst watching Homeland, I'm still flummoxed by the whole thing:o
LL - I'm another one that could do with a wardrobe sort out - might attempt it this week and mum can help.

Good to hear you're feeling better Rosetta:T

ETA my little positives for today....
    1. Big strides made with boring lessons
    2. Walked quite a bit despite aching legs
    3. Clean house = less stressed mind
    4. Heard from sister who is enjoying her holiday at the disabled holiday home

    Loads of these.

We did this before - not sure how many I can remember - might have to try the old thread.

In the meantime here's a few off the top of my head.

    "The Power of P"

    Procrastination

My biggest weakness. Well as from today - no more. I need to get back on track and get cracking. It's back to basics for me with a vengeance. I've fallen by the wayside this past couple of months, been a bit in the doldrums. It's time to fight back, stop putting things off until I feel better.

I won't feel better until I take positive steps and massive action.

    Persistance Pays Off

Never, never give up. Whatever it is, never give up on your dreams, hopes and aspirations.

    Perseverance

Sometimes it gets very tough but you just have to keep going. As Churchill put it "When you are walking through hell, you just have to keep walking".

    Positivity

My favourite. Do you remember that old astrologer who wrote in one of the newspapers - Mystic Meg I think - "Think lucky and you'll be lucky".

    Plan

Make a plan and stick to it. OK you may need to deviate now and then but if you have a plan then you know where you are going and how you are going to get there.

    Morning all,

LL - hope you're feeling a bit better today, as others have said try to give yourself a break - sometimes it can take a bit for things to catch up with you, we keep going and going while we have to and then when things slow down a little it can all hit us at once. /QUOTE]

    I've been mulling this over.

One or two you have made similar comments and I think you are right. Maybe I'm being rather too hasty, too much in a rush to "get back to normal".

Story of my life really - I've always lived at 100 miles per hour. :rotfl:

For the past few years I've been fuelled by adrenaline. Now that I can take my foot of the pedal, no more adrenaline rushes and I think that's why I feel so exhausted.

I'll get there - just need a little more patience.

I've been doing a lot of thinking and I've come up with a modified action plan. Back to the Elephant - a little every day.;)

So today - it's back to basics. Back to the healthy heating, reducing carbs, exercise. etc.

Have already done my first lot of physic. Just off to tidy my eyebrows, and a banana face mask.

Have a great day. Weather is awful here.
