Fedup, is a 6 mile walk really 1300kcal? Or have you done somethingelse? If it is lots of kcals, yippee!!!:j

We've been out walking and I think we did over five miles so I've walked off the pancakes we had tonight!!

(Pancake Day early as silly busy Tuesday) Hey, that means Lent should start now! Have to start my list of goals!

I am sorry to hear some many of you are have such struggles and battles. I can't offer any experience but only hugs x x x

LW, I wonder if you did go out?? I hope so, just for a little bit this time and then maybe you'll feel better about going another time. PS Is a Moot like a Meet?

Fab-wise, I looked at my poor old feet and thought that if they're going to be exposed to the fresh air anytime this year, I need to pay them some attention! So, cuticle cream and lotion and some polish that's meant to make the nails look not like something that's been hidden under a rock for a year!!:T

Mind you, that was before the walk so who know's what they're like now!

Yes it was as it was up and up hills and down and up again in the Peaks - moderate effort hiking rather than the more intensive walks next month meaning even more will be burnt off then as I attempt a very high peak :D

LOL, We were walking on the Essex/Suffolk border so the peaks weren't very peaky but it was quite hilly for our part of the world so I'll count it as a good few kcals!:j

    morning all.
Hugs to all those of you who need them.

I wasn't on over the weekend, but I did keep up with the fabbing. Although I've run into diffs a little. I have recently bought some new pretty 50s style dresses which I love and have managed to wear a couple of times. But...they're now a bit too big for me :(
I don't have the money right now to get them taken in and it's not something I can manage myself as it's round the neckline as well - so we'll have to make do for a while.

I've weighed myself on Saturday and have lost 2stone altogether, which is great, my BMI is now within the healthy range and I'm getting to be a large 12 - small 14 but not good when none of my clothes fit!

Bratz - well done on the 2st :j:j:jThat's a great achievement.
Sorry to hear that you can't manage to do the alterations to your clothes, could you ask around and see if anyone could point you in the right direction. Are there any tutorials on the web.

Well I've got a busy day today, so I'm currently multi-tasking. I'm sitting here typing with a face mask on. ;) Just going to sort out the laundry and then off for my bath etc.

Well done on the walking to those that were out and about. This is definitely on my agenda asap - although in my case it will have to be a stroll across the fields at the back of my house. Hill walking would finish me off.

Physio tomorrow - am hoping that once my back and joint pain/stiffness eases off then I can really get down to exercising properly and getting fitter. Unfortunately I'm not doing too well with weight loss either, just staying the same, still at least I'm not putting any on.

Thanks for those diy websites - I've a list of jobs as long as my arm. Hopefully some will be diy but I'm afraid some will have to be GSI (get someone in). Have to nurse my back these days. :o

Off to get cracking - have a good day X
  • I'm in! I want to lose the last stone plus tone a little and look great for when he gets on one knee in the summer:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Kinda knowing doesn't ruin the surprise it gives me enough time to look WOW for it :rotfl:

Morning all, not been on over the weekend so lots to catch up on!

Lizzie - how frustrating of them to just stop your benefits without a word or anything  It baffles me how they seem to expect people to be able to live on thin air while they faff around and don't have a clue what's going on, I know when I used to be chasing benefits they would pass me from person to person, who would have no clue what was going on and tell me a different story every time.

Hewie - welcome back :) Sounds like your OH maybe needed to be the bad guy a bit to get you motivated, and am sure it is going to pay off and you will be looking fab in time for your holiday.

LL - sorry you're having money stresses as well, the Devon trip sounds lovely and hope the research into mobility options is going ok.

Not to mention everyone who is struggling with benefits/care problems but I appreciate how massively frustrating it must be. I know we tried for years to try and get help for OH with his mental health issues - both financial and otherwise and it was like banging your head against a brick wall. I was basically told by several agencies that he couldn't be that bad 'because he was managing to be a relationship' - they were quite happy for me to cope with everything so they didn't have to. I did consider if whether I left they would actually do something then but since at the time OH was having panic attacks, couldn't leave the house, didn't eat unless I forced him, had no income at all and talked most days about harming himself, then it wasn't a risk I was willing to take :( Even now, when the only dealings I currently have with them are for his student loan I still end up on the phone to them for hours, numerous letters, misplaced information, mess ups and delays every single time
Anyway, I hope you all manage to get somewhere, thinking of you x

Aside from that, hasn't been the best weekend, felt rather cacky on Friday and spent most of the day in bed, left me feeling rather demotivated the rest of the weekend. OH has been busy with the editing so barely seen him, normally would appreciate a bit of peace to get on with some work but not been feeling very creative this weekend so not got much done. Also had a really bad night's sleep last night, don't think I even got 2 hours, didn't feel great and OH was really restless so not a good combination - feeling completely knackered today and just wanting to get through the day so can go home to bed :(

Oh Podperson - I sympathise with the sleeping - its horrible not getting enough isn't? I always feel a bit drunk when I go through an insomnia phase.

After making a start on the shower yesterday I quickly got quite demoralised - just taking the old sealant off takes ages!!! Its a flipping nightmare - but I perservered and got most of it off, needs about another half hour and then it'll be ready to reseal.
Whilst spending ages sat on my bum in the bathroom I noticed how manky the skirtings were, how tatty the carpet looks and how the blind has seen better days. So I have embarked on a mini bathroom overhaul.
Have been to a carpet shop this morning and managed to get a nice remnant for £70 (bartered the man down from £85;)) - its being fitted on Saturday.
Will also rip up the old carpet and repaint the skirtings and have already priced a new blind (phoned the shop I bought some wooden blinds from) and it was much more affordable than I thought so will pop in later to chose a colour - the nice man fitted the last one in about 10 mins and made no mess at all:)
Hopefully I'll get away without having to emulsion the walls (mostly tiled), I'll give it a good wipe over and see how it looks.

Its hair cut and eyebrows day tomorrow  Not even sure what I want doing yet - ity just needs to be better than this! Still growing it so hopefully a good tidy will transform me!

    Yes it's a gathering of Pagans.:D

We didn't go in the end; it was cold, so I'd have had to wear closed-in footwear (too painful), my shoulder was giving me the works (more pain) and I couldn't face the fact that I'd have people coming up to me and asking where I'd been for the last 3 months.

I'm OK going to talks, (which this would have been), as long as I can just go in, sit quietly at the back, and escape again as soon as the talk is over. Any more than that gets me close to panic.

Oh well, we can try again next month....:D

Changing the subject, Dylan's just been collected, so I'm dogless now til 16th March, when he's coming back for a 10-day stay, so I shall look forward to that.:o

I hope everyone's had a good start to the week.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • started the day off with yet another job rejection :( although it was for SW consultant and would have cost us nearly 2 grand all in to get me started and so maybe its a good thing it was a no.

also got my latest in beauty box i ordered last feel so off to have a pampering bath. DH is taking me out for a meal and cinema later on to cheer me up too.
