Someone at my work makes constant comments about my weight, including one about my well padded bahookie, so I should be joining you on the posting lbs!

(except today, in a fit of depression, i ate cake. Lots of it)
  • Morning All,

Well I was up and out for work early today, although I have noticed I keep pushing my alarm clock further and further back, so I'm just making it out the door in time to catch my bus these days.

I have to say that my hair still looks reasonably decent after washing it backwards so to speak, usually I need to wash my hair everyday as it gets greasy so quickly. I know that the more you wash it, the more you need to wash it, but I just cant get away with not washing it everyday when I have to go work. I would look a total mess :eek:

So no fabbing, just the basics. Out for dinner tonight with friends. I need to cut this out though, I desperately want to save some money for my return to the UK and save my waist line a bit.

LL - When i get back to the UK I will give those homemade serums ago. I dont want to spend too much money on things that wont be used up by the time I leave here.

Happy Monday everyone. Have a good day.
  • sorry if this has been posted before and I have missed it.

I now have a recipe for serums, which I am going to give a try. Does anyone have any recipes for good moisturisers, cleansers and toners?

I really like the idea of going natural. As long as its reasonably easy and I'm not having to make something up on a daily basis.

Oh Adela that is so cruel of them and I think they are just jealous because you are glamming up and making the most of themselves. Don't let force you into losing weight, do it for you not them, if not you are just going to stress yourself big time. Is there something you can make constant comments about them when they say something like 'yes nice and padded unlike yours doesn't it hurt to sit on those bones - nasty I know but if they are making your feel so bad about yourself then I think you need to be nasty back. I am not usually one for doing or saying anything I usually do turn the other cheek, but only for me I stand up for others, but this is plain nasty sending hugs to you, you are fab just as you are.:A

  • Got to admit not done to much fabbing lately but I do not go out the house now without make up, my mum would be so proud, she used to despair over me, she wore make up every day apart from the last 4 days of her life when she was just to weak and ill to care. Also making sure I go out shopping as if off to work, instead of the same 4 outfits I have been wearing for ages.

Weight not doing so good as stopped smoking - will be two weeks on Wednesday - and did found I was starving for about 8 days but that seems to have past now so got to get back to my healthy eating. Now I am finding I cannot get enough water down me, always thirsty, but hoping that is body wanting the water to flush out toxins and it to will pass, not that its a bad thing, just feel am more on the loo than off it at moment:rotfl:

Due to health conditions I get times when I either sleep a lot or not much and at moment going through the not sleeping much - go a couple of days without sleeping, then sleep one night then repeat and been up since yesterday morning around 9am and it does affect my skin, its on the only time I ever have wrinkles, just a few under my eyes and not sure how to hide them. They will go once I have a nights sleep again, but its so annoying, I look my age or older no chance of people thinking I am my grandchildren's mother, as often happens when l look like this.

So used to looking younger than my age I guess I am vain about it, so bothers me.

So you wonderful people how can I hide some wrinkles on days like this, not that I am likely to go out, but might if hubby is not feeling to bad when he gets home ( he is full of cold but doesn't like to give in to illness of anykind - no manflu here) as I have to go and take some photos of places connected to a famous pop group around here for some American friends. I have taken these photos before but can I find then - nope

    Have a fab day

adelight - since I don't know what people can/cant' use I have an SLS free soap base and I'm just adding grapeseed and jojoba oil and lavender EO. To be on the safe side :)

    elfen - congratualtions!!

Haven't been on over the weekend due to family-induced wedding related stress and may not be on for a few days until I calm down. Still feel sick over it. But I will lurk and keep up with you all so no slacking!

    Hi Adela

    That is not nice.

I would definitely try and tackle this if you can.

I know this might be difficult but if it were me I would take them to one side and explain just how much they are upsetting you.

Tell them that you are desperately trying to lose weight and that whilst you appreciate that they are trying to help in their own jokey jovial way actually it just makes you feel even worse.

Lay it on with a palette knife if you have to. Don't worry if you start to cry whilst you do this - they really do need to see how hurt you are by this.

Good luck with this - if they've got half an ounce of decency they will change their ways. It could be that they think they are "helping".

It could be that they don't change - and that they are simply just a horrible nasty person - in which case there's not much you can do - except carry on, lose the weight and then dazzle them with the new you.

    Good morning Everyone

Just a quickie, after yesterday's marathon with the paperwork, I now have some phone calls to make and a stack of cheques to write. I shall be so glad when this is over, although I have been warned that the paperwork continues for weeks if not months.

If I can just get on top of it, hopefully it will be relatively easy to maintain.

Very foggy at the moment, hoping it clears so I can pop along and visit OH later.

Maman - apply foundation to the centre of your face only and then spread it out towards the sides - hope that makes sense. That way by the time you reach the temples and your eyes, it shouldn't cake into the wrinkles. Remember it's easier to add a little more if you need it, rather than trying to remove any excess.

Re disgusing wrinkles - there are plenty of wrinkle filler creams available now. They vary in price from about at £5 (Aldi) to - well you name it. They work by plumping up the skin.

I currently use Tri-aktiline - got it from Boots. It was a bit pricey at £27 for a 30ml tube but it is quite good.

People used to use haemorrhoid cream - although you are not supposed to put this on your face. It was very effective and of course very cheap. I understand that they've changed the active ingredients in haemorrhoid creams now and that they don't have the same effect.

These filler creams are quite effective - unfortunately the effect does wear off after about 4 hours or so. They are usually in a small tube so you can carry them around with you quite easily for top ups. You put them on after your foundation.

    Hope that helps.

Off to make those calls, tackle the ironing and I really need to do some stretches - my back is playing up - the damp weather really doesn't help.

Feeling a bit "pale and interesting" at the moment. Nothing that a fortnight in the Bahamas wouldn't cure. Unfortunately I don't think I would be able to convince my Bank Manager. :(

"G" week already. So "Gee-up" and keep at it.

    that is unacceptable
I know most people don't like confrontation but no one has the right to keep making comments. if you don't want to go down te HR route personally I would make this person feel embarrassed. Next time they comment i would turn around and say "and you're saying that because?......" and leave the question hanging thereby leaving them to justify the comments and generally allowing them to crawl back up their own @rse. Or failing that send 'em my way ;)

    So into the G week.

Many of you might not agree with this but I loathe this "Good Food categorising. To me food is not good or bad. its just food, fuel. I believe when you lump your treats into the Bad Food category it just makes them all the more desirable leading to eating and then GUILT. So lets ditch the guilt and move on to really enjoying our food without thinking we ought to be eating something else instead.

Heres to another week of looking GORGEOUS :T

Cold now gone, back is playing up due to my inactivity so its bcd to ZUMBA for me :j
