Morning All
Has everyone seen the free Woolite offer with a Very order, on the Grabbit board?
Place any order with Very, and get a free 750ml Woolite washing detergent. You can select 'Deliver to a Select+ store' to have delivered free to a shop near-by.
I ordered a pair of pillow cases for £2, they also have ladies tops for £3.

jumblejack- YESSSS!Did anyone else LOVE dtd days just so they felt like they were buying really expensive stuff? I just loved that :TI know it sounds silly but dtd made me feel so sneaky and mischievious
Like I could be proud to only have a few items in my trolley for £30 like I was made of money knowing full well I'd get the money back
God I sound like such a superficial b!tch! Now I want a trolley full of shopping for £30!! I hate paying full price for anything also, where there's a will there's a way!!:D
I can totally empathise with this!!!
I was exactly the same. I got to experience what it was like to have 3 items in my basket for £20 for a couple of weeks (I cottoned on late!). I was devastated when it finished but I got a measure of my life back.
Now I cannot spend more than £20 even if I wish it. The grip on my purse strings is so tight, it will not relent.
I just cannot believe how much I get for so little. I refuse to return to my prior shopping habits.
I am horrified when I look at some folks trolleys. Folk must work such long hours to pay for such a hoard.
I picked up a receipt a few days ago (to enter in price check) and it was £192 and didn't even have any multibuy reductions on it  I could EASILY feed my family for 6 weeks on that amount!
That's more than a week's wage for many people!!!
Even the recent Next sale. I can't go in there. Even at half price, I cannot justify £20 for one item, etc. I just think how cheap I can get things from elsewhere. When you are dressed, the labels can't be seen anyway.
My shopping habits have changed forever. I am out of the red and in the black and my bank has never been so happy with me despite the recession!
Thanks everyone for your savvy influence!:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I have just dropped my hours to 75%, after almost a year of requesting part time. Even now this is just for 6 months, then I may have to go back full time.
I found full time shift work so exhausting I had no life outside of work - certainly no energy to bargain hunt, or cook cheap healthy meals. I lived on M&S ready meals for ages.
Even though I now need to watch my pennies, I would much rather that, and have a better quality of life.
The only problem is the 1p items are unhealthy stuff like nuts and chocolate, and I am trying to have a more healthly lifestyle.0 -

You have hit the nail on the head.
With your slightly reduced hours, you have a slightly reduced income BUT you can now have the indulgence of shopping more savvily, when it pays to shop, whoopsie times etc. you also have a bit more time to prepare food, batch bake etc.
Those working long hours have little time available so have to do a full weekly shop. We had to do this for the first time in years as we went to Anglesey for a week away from supermarkets. Hence we had to stick up for the week and it was agonising for me to see all that money being spent so wastefully. Even though we meal planned, the tendency is to buy more as you cannot get to the shops if you run out.
I'm so glad I passed my driving test a couple of years ago so that I am free to 'nip out' when necessary! Shopping is a breeze now:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Good morning one and all
Must correct myself re the sizing of the tickets in mr t being a little misleading. I have checked and there is no law against it, only time font sizes have rules is when there is a reference to any type of credit.
Regarding everyones budgets, i tread carefully when i say that if i only had to pay a rent excess then we would be sooooo much better off. As it stands our mortgage alone is just over 1k and council tax £210.
I am not judging people as i dont know circumstances, so dont anyone shout, but its hardly a fair comparison for katierose (i think) to think her outgoings are so rediculous when comparing against someone on benefits with subsidies. If she was to compare against me for instance, shes a little off but not far!
Was going to write something else but have deleted it. There is a lurker on here that has worked out who i am, he used to work for my OH and tells tales! Oh, and he never contributes either! Ashame really as i used to like confiding in cyberfriends but now feel i cant. OH wouldnt be over the moon to think i had been discussing some stuff! Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -
Morning everyone
I've had a helluva night, my poor DD isn't a well bubs, so she slept in with me last night, cue lots of moving about, wriggling and kicking! So not much sleep for me! She currently curled on the couch with her blankie and teddy, looking very cute.
Remember those Lindam bed guards that were about a while back, has anyone else actually put them together?!
Me and OH were there for 45 minutes trying to get it together properly and there may have been some shouting and sweary words :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Don't think I'll be going anywhere today with DD, plus it's blowing a gale and pouring down, a nice day tucked up in the house me thinks...those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
PRIDE
There's a fork in the road, which way will you go
You standing still or will you step into the great unknown,
Is yours to decide, this is your life.
