I've never lifted an SEL as I don't want to be accused to tampering. I have however followed the CS SA to the shelf and back to ensure no funny business.

Yes, I always follow the CS person to the shelf for this reason.
  • I ALWAYS escort them back to the shelf on a DTD query, would seem rude not to really!!

Be careful when taking photographs in store as they can ban you as it is against Tesco policy to take pictures inside the store.
I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.

True but most people would be unaware of that as there are no signs to say so. A discreeet photo with a mobile phone is all thats needed.

Just bought Micky Clarke hair straighteners 34.97 and scanned at 64.97 while I was waiting at customer service some one took the sel away so wouldn't give dtd. Phoned head office and they said there's nothing they can do. Going to email Philip now. :(
I had the same thing today on an OOD SEL for BT phones. SA went to check the shelf and returned to say that there was no lable - hmm managed to come back with the OOD SEL next to it for a cheaper product though.... said that no-one could have removed the SEL - said I begged to differ, but they were having none of it and just refunded the amount. Was going to chase this up with HO, but tried a different store and found another set of BT phones with OOD SEL. CS tried to refund the difference and I pointed out DTD - sorry she said that's up to the manager's discretion on high ticket items - told her that the sign didn't say that and called CS at HO. Manager FINALLY arrived and said that it was at his discretion and on this occasion would honour DTD, so got a nice 4 pack of phones and was paid £10 to take them away :j
