Thanks, but we've only just started winter

And end of Jan/beginning of Feb is often the worst time for bad weather - with snow the first week of Feb quite common

I agree, it's quite mild for time of year but gotta think we've got bad weather to come

Ssshhhh...no one mention bad weather at the end Jan/beginning Feb....baby due 10/2 and I'm 40-50mins from the hospital :(

  • Right then....silly challenge for the day.

Most people believe that they 'taste' food when the reality is that a lot of things you only sense through smell.

Don't believe me? I can prove it.

    Buy some ordinary Bananas.

When you're ready to do the test make sure that you haven't unpeeled any of the Banana (this is critical as if you smell any Banana before the next stage it won't work), now pinch your nose so that you can't breath through it at all. While keeping your nose pinched unpeel one of the Bananas (works better if you have someone unpeel it for you, and once you've proved it too yourself you can show it to others quite easily if you peel the Banana for them while they hold their own nose).

While still pinching your nose bite off some Banana and chew.....what can you taste? After you've chewed for say 20 seconds let go of your nose and keep chewing, what can you taste now?

It's a fun game for the younger kids as they won't believe you till you prove it.

Works on fresh brewed coffee and a number of other things as well.

    Have fun.
