Got some diesel tonight on my way to work and had to chuckle at myself, the way my mind has changed in just the last week or so was quite interesting

Instead of trying to get the diesel pump to stop bang on the £ ( ie £25) I wanted it just over but not too far so that I could Tilly tidy up when I got to work:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So with that in mind I Tilly tidied 98p and sugar shuffled my £1 over, did have 3 biscuits and a piece of shortbread today given to me at the inlaws house but I didn't purchase any, and I didn't purchase any on the way to work either so transferred the £1 over ... It all helps and it all adds up :)

Have had a bit of a busy day today, been down to in law's to sort some stuff out, I seem to be getting landed with more of their personal stuff the older they get , which is fine as if the time should ever come when they are incapable of dealing with things at least I won't be going in blind

Hi there if you are having to deal with stuff for them, especially financial stuff then you need them to agree a power of attorney so that it is all above board. That way others can't accuse you of trying to influence them or anything. It also means that if they were both suddenly incapacitated, you would be covered.
Like the idea of the sugar shuffle.

They arnt quite ready for a power of attorney yet chev ... I think in another ten years or so they will be, we have a small family as well there is mil,fil mr el, master el and myself ... Master el also deals with some things for them so between us we manage stuff, his work is more aimed at getting cheapest insurances etc as that's his area of expertise, I deal with the more legal/ banking etc side as I am more savvy in that area ... Mr el deals more with the d.i.y stuff so we generally manage

I know the day will come when we will have to do the power of attorney but I know for a fact they would have issues if I suggested it just now.

My parents set up the power of attorney thing naming me a couple of years ago El, their idea and hopefully not required for a good few years yet but it's reassuring it's there if you know what I mean. Don't see my bro ever arguing with me if the time ever comes but it still removes that anxiety.
P.S. thought the bit about you and mr el working together was lovely:smileyhea

I did myself Skinty tbh ... It's amazing how much he has changed since his breakdown, he is no longer selfish, I never used to think he was either, he has always been a very giving man and tbh apart from his drinking I was always happy, but since his breakdown he really has stepped up with his caring, even when he is having a bad day he is still thinking about us and our life together and our plans for the future

Friends have always commented on how happy we have been and were shocked and stunned when we split up, now though I think if they spent time with us ( mr el sometimes struggles with people so we don't visit and spend as much time with friends as we used to) I think they would be even more surprised at how well we get on

It's a really good place to be, I feel so much less stress than I used to and I've only noticed it since the stress has been away ... If that makes sense

I imagine they would ... I got 180 points today with just 30 mins or so ( whilst I was wasting time anyway)

I think over the course of a year it will give me a weeks Shopping ... Which will be handy if money is tight :)

I just managed the whole 250 :T - try logging on again as it was giving me points for watching the same ads several times (manwich anyone? :D). But Jeez, that's an hour out of my life I'm never getting back :o. Still, that's £1.25 in the bag :j.

    ETA - el, that's lovely :)

You shouldn't get points if you watch more than once, but I did :).

Ah ha! Hmm maybe I should do something similar for alcohol? Not that I drink vast quantities but it would help boost the savings!

Wow that sounds like a good idea Chev.
