The advice for shin splints seems to be very similar to the for fractures...rest and some ice (protected by a towel). You may need to have a week off or work on your core and upper body. Maybe we can get you a wheelchair and you c an focus on giving David Weir a run for his money.

I am soooo frustrated by it all butti ... I have my aeroplane compression socks somewhere, will need to look them out, don't get me wrong it's not agony ... But I don't want into become agony iykwim ... When I rest I feel no pain ( apart from when I touch it ... It feels bruised) but when I put any sort of weight on it at all it's a burning pain about 3-4 inches long on the right leg on the inside of my shin

I always thought shin splints were down the front of your leg, not the side :(

And THIS IS WHY I don't go running. Not laziness, oh no ;). Hope you recover quickly so you can do more of the sweaty, out of breath stuff :D.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Ohhh I won't be stopping with the sweaty out of breath stuff GG ... Just the sweaty out if breath stuff will only involve me and mr el for a wee while instead of treadmills and c25k's;):p

Will leave the running for a wee while, but I'm already missing it, I think it's been giving me this feeling of satisfaction that I havn't had since climbing a hill ... Even then it's a different high but both are great :)
