I think it's fine but maybe see what you think with a portion in case you don't agree?

thinking about the whole pasta situation and other silly questions i have/will ask, I think right here and now would be a great time to let you know that i was not brought up but dragged up by abusive parents, I was never taught to cook, clean, budget, dress, do hair/makeup etc

What a lot of people may think as common sense is honestly stuff I don't understand

I'm not saying this for sympathy or anything ( I don't really do sympathy ... Probably another childhood throw back :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: ) but to give you an understanding that I honestly don't have a clue about a lot of things ... Yes over the years I have learned enough to get me by etc ,

but I have only ever cooked one chicken in my life an wouldn't know where to begin with making several meals and stock etc from the chicken, or how to cook many other every day meals

the first time i made mince and tatties was hilarious, I cooked the mince and kept adding water, once I thought the mince was cooked I added more water then pints of stock... It landed up like brown water with bits of meat floating in it.

I have never made biscuits, although I do fancy trying that and other things as well,

I must admit, when our son was born we swore he wouldn't have the same up bringing so we slowly learned to cook, clean and keep house, I can get by ... But I am no domestic goddess by any stretch of the imagination:D

So in this instance I didn't think pasta would freeze well,

I've found myself previously in a shop and having to go online and ask the OS board if I can freeze mozzarella cheese as I saw an offer but wouldn't be have used it all before it went out of date so MSE'd it and found out I could so bought it :D thank goodness for mobile internet sometimes

I feel as if I'm growing up now ... Only taken me 40 years so far:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

My mum was the world's worst cook El, so I learned off friends parents & cookery books! About the frozen thing - pals husband claims he can tell a difference between fresh meat & previously frozen so maybe some folk can tell :D

Maybe they are the kinda people I have spoken to Skinty ... Have to admit my life got so much easier when mr el discovered his love of cooking, he has a natural talent I just never had ... I can follow a recipe book but that's my whack... He tastes things and adds things... It's like a chemistry lab in our kitchen sometimes lol

I love cooking, but maybe if my mum had been any good I wouldn't have... she was dragged up too El so didn't have much to fall back on, it's stew, stew, stew at hers... Hopefully DS will have happy memories of nice meals and cooking :)

son and father spend time cooking together, when our son was younger i used to buy those boxes with cake mix etc in and make them with him, he is actually quite a good wee cook, wish i could get him to open his curtains though, what is it with kids and having dark rooms ?

    I'm in

I can't remember ever cooking at home - did with my granny when I stayed with her but she unfortunately died when I was really little :( - can't think of doing it with mum ...ever

Then I went to boarding school when I was quite young and we never got taught it there either!

I'm good with things like soups, stews - stuff that you can just fling together but absolutely useless at baking:o

maybe we should try something every week ? one week a meal one week a desert, one week a soup etc?

in other news, i have used up one of my facial cleansing stash and one of my shower gel stash as well .. both loccitane and neither will be replaced my anything anywhere near the same price bracket, i kept the shower gel bottle and will use it when i go on holiday as it is just a wee one and will fit well into the hand luggage, have got the bare minerals facial cleanser ready for next time and a new shower gel opened

i find it a great feeling when i have used up some of my stash, this way i know i am using what i have bought and not wasting anything, and i have plenty of a stash to use up before i buy any more products, i do fancy seeing how long it is till my stash goes down as i have been at this for a few months now, wonder if i can make it a year :)

i do have £20 worth of boots points so that when eventually i do run out i will try for a no spend with replacing what i need.

i think i need to do this with my make up as well, i have ridiculous amounts of makeup, all of which is very expensive stuff, mac, bobbi brown, chanel etc ... i think with my lifestyle it just isnt practical to wear makeup, but i do enjoy wearing it and i need to make more of an effort, will maybe try a mini challenge with that as well

i did this before and even included brushing my hair ( my hair is long and i wear it mainly tied up due to work restrictions) and it worked to a certain extent, need to start it up again though
