I just texted back rather than speak to them i think i wouldve lost the plot otherwise ... It couldve became a problem for me so i nipped it in the bud before they got a chance to make it worse
I cant wait to run again either ... Looking forward to my meeting tomorrow to find out what i can and cant do0 -
hey all ,
went to the dr's today and it was a tad confusing ... my resluts have all came back clear with the c.t note stating (words to the effect of) patient tested for amaurosis fugax, there is no conclusive evidence that this has happened, as the patient is only 39 it could possibly be a migraine without pain
so i thought hey thats good news isnt it ... so there is no evidence that i have had a stroke the consultant seems to think that due to my age it could be a painless migraine ... i can handle that no worries . however my own Dr then informed me that he has treated very fit 80 years olds and very unfit 40 year olds so that fact that i am 39 doesnt mean that i havnt had a stroke, he seems to think i have had
my Bp is still very high, i have to go for a 24 hr Bp monitor ... he also wants to put me onbeta blockers but i have asked him to let me get the montior done first ...
i have reiterated that i want referred to a dietician and he has done so, i also asked him about excercise and he has indicated that until i am on the beta blockers and my Bp is under control he doesnt want me doing anything strenuous at all ...
so it's no running for me for a wee while... but lots of walking and i will try gentle cycling

i do i do ... honest ... it's just i am only working two shifts then i am off for seven days ... i would rather if it got too much be off for a week or so (and not loose holidays etc)
i did speak to my boss today and i explained that i cant do stress anymore so i wont be getting myself involved in any of the work situations that are currently happening ... i also told her i was looking for a transfer to another unit ... she has agreed to give me a glowing referance ...
i filled in an application for for the unit i want to go to and i phoned the unit to let them know i was applying
i will wait till i have seen the dietician etc and once i have all that sorted i will (hopefully) get their support in a unit /shift transfer0 -
hopefully they can sort a transfer out soon for you and it'll be a lot better0

Thanks Taxi , i think that is going to be a large part of the problem to be honest ... when i am night shift i drink far too much coffee and eat far too much sugar ... this needs to stop ... i do it because night shift is not natural for me but i need to stop
i also need to excercise more and when if i was on days i would get that chance where as i am night shift i cant excercise ...
this has to be a whole life change for me ... but i need to do it a bit at a time ...
Taxi i am more than aware that you have had to make some major changes in your life ... can i ask how did you go about implementing them? can you give me any advice ... cause i know you have done so extremely well0
