Bills are all out the bank today and have managed to Tilly tidy £1.72 over two accounts ( my other Halifax DDM's came out :) )

Second night shift has been done and one left to go :)

Have done a quick calculation and I'm down from £707 to pay next month to £705 ... I'm going to work on getting that sub £700 but a £2 saving each month is a good start ... I think the Tilly tidies and sugar shuffles are the reason I have managed to get it down ... Now to work on a way to get the sugar shuffles back up and running:)

Well it's been a bit of a day today, came home got a few hours sleep then had to get up to deal with aunties stuff, then went out for lunch with mil before returning home to deal with Halifax.

I had found out that not only can I get £5 a month with my reward account but I can also get £5 with my clarity card, now this takes me up to £120 a year in payments from them, so I phoned but was told I would have to close my clarity card account then reapply for the clarity reward account, so I asked to be out through to the person to close my account, he then decided to deal with my issue and I have now been taken over to the Halifax reward clarity card and paid some compensation for my inconvenience :)

I have to ensure I spend £300 a month on my card ... Between my diesel shopping and council tax this is not going to be a problem for us ... I will however have to ensure that is all I use it for ... But I think now that we have got our heads in gear we will manage to stay in control :)

    Guess where that's going :):)

We also had a guy give us a quote for central heating ... Well it's a way to pass a few hours and get a giggle ... These people just don't expect to be meeting individuals that have a bit of a clue about various schemes ... He went out with a wee flea in his ear lol

Isn't it fab when you can make changes like this which positively impact the mortgage. I am cheering for you at the moment, for those that know me in RL, they will know I mean it, and I literally did cheer out loud :T:T:T:)

Thanks taxi and thanks Tilly, glad you can share in our happiness Tilly :) yep I agree I think it's getting our head around it all that makes the difference, we've been trying to get debt free for a while ( years actually) but it wasn't till starting this 100 month challenge that things seemed to "click" into place for us, we had to make a lot of mistakes to get to here ... But now that we have our head around it it's like ... Well to be honest I can't think of the best term to use ... But it's a really good place to be

This mortgage even though it is going up presently it won't be long till we get rid of it, I have been plotting about ways to deal with the new part of it and will reveal them when I have firmed them up some more :)

I was actually sitting in work and thinking about how once we are debt free we WILL continue with our current way of living to carry on improving our life, but instead of debt repayment we will be future saving ... That is a really really good feeling I can assure you

I have to admit though if it wasn't for this place we would still be very lost and possibly on a trust deed by now and maybe even lost our home etc ... This place and its support from the amazing people on here is why we are now in the best place we have been for a long long time ... Both financially, emotionally and spiritually :)

 Yup El, she would have  ;):rotfl:.

Great stuff on Halifax - I have the same 2 and I do a little funny-dancing-smiley-emoticon.giftwice a month when the £5 is credited. And like Tilly, those that know me in RL etc :D.

    Loving the positivity El :T:T:T
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
