It's great to see you doing so well El, having Mr El on board seems to have made all the difference for you both.
Sadly, it's something I won't ever accomplish with Mr GA. With the way the illness has effected him, he just doesn't seem to be able to grasp the fact that my earnings recently (and currently) don't give us any wiggle room at all. He doesn't even see that leaving taps running or putting one item in the washing machine cost money. Electric is a nightmare for us with him home all day long, can't even switch due to arrears.
Urgh to the "R" word possibility ... hope you find a way to work something out before it becomes necessary.

well surveyor has been, it was quite interesting, he noticed the JK straight away but said that seeing as we are actively dealing with it and are in fact on top of it it wont affect the house value, but it is something (should we choose to sell down the line) that we will need to be aware of, he thinks the house should value out ok and will forward his paper work to the mortgage provider as soon as he is able.
have got my first box ready for music magpie, will post that just now and wait patiently till the money hits our accounthave another good bit to go still, but i have started so that is the main thing

Angel i am sorry to hear that, i fully understand where your coming from with the price of electricty etc, when mr el was off for 7.5 months it was painful paying the gas and electricity whilst he was off, i had worked it out at over £200 in gas for the month of january ( cant quite remember how much over but if i remember right it was somewhat closer to the £300 than the £200
mr el just couldnt cope with things either, they were very dark days, you have my empathy, just wish there was something more constructive i could offer xxxx0 -
Hi El, what's JK?
Glad the surveyor has been and well done to Mr El. I'm pretty sure looking at the blind will mean more to you both than a Chinese meal
Good luck with your next wave of decluttering.

Hi Tilly, jk I our pet name for Japanese knotweed ... We have waste land at the back I our property which is owned by a consortium ... There is Japanese knotweed growing on it but no one can get a hold of the consortium to fix it, I have had discussions with neighbours about it all am it only ourselves and our immediate neighbours that are interested in dealing with it
So we deal with ours between us and let the rest deal with theirs ... We have what I call a fire break of about 5 metrs between our back garden and the jk and every year we will try and push it back a further mtr or so ... The surveyor was very impressed with our efforts and took note of things to tell other people how to deal with it
Mr el and I plan on sorting through some more DVDs tonight and getting them all dealt with
Yep looking forward to having a black out blind also ... Hopefully I will be able to sleep longer in the night shift
Hope your good0 -
Hoping it doesn't come to the R word x
Good news on the blind and heres hoping for a good outcome on the valuation x0 -
Thanks taxi xxx0

JK sounds such a pain. Someone told me it could grow through concrete, but I've no idea if that is bonkers..."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0

nope not bonkers, if people dont deal withit it can destroy their home, which is what i told the neighbour but they didnt seem to care, so i let them deal with theirs and i ensure we stay on top of ours ... mr el is good at digging up the roots and we treat the JK a good few times every year ensuring we burn everything, we also sterilise everything from boots etc that come anywhere near the house, we have an incinerator set up outside to burn it all ... its a tricky business to be honest and needs to be dealt with and kept on top of
mr el and myself had a look at the last of our dvd's and we have got all the last of the ones we are willing to part with sorted out, they came to £11 on music magpie, but we are going to try and see if we can sell them at a cash convertors tomorrow, it's not so much about being desperate for the cash it's more about the de-cluttering and getting our life organised, normally i would take them all to the charity shop but this way we can get a wee bit of money for ourselves
we still have some that we want to keep and wont part with but that is ok we are happy to keep them.
i have also just got another email saying i have sold another book so i will have to post that tomorrow or monday ... are post offices open on saturdays?0
