I think it's just one of these things that happen ... I work for a charity so they don't have a lot of money to throw around, the fact that they are top heavy do not go unnoticed ... Sigh...

Oh well will need to see what happens with that one I spose

97p Tilly tidy done and my sugar shuffle, still really enjoying doing these as they are keeping me focussed throughout the month

Last nights dinner was a gammon joint, it was delish to put it mildly, we've never made anything like it before so wasn't sure how it would go so mr el looke up a recipe and cooked it ( to perfection i might add ) but it was really lovely and I have spare so that will do for something else also :)

So that's me done 26.5 hours overtime this month already have another 22 to go so far...

I'm having to rethink things though as my student loan start to come off next month

Oooops posted too early ( the joys if the phone )

If I do too much overtime I will have to start paying my student loan off ... Now don't get me wrong I fully intend in paying it off... But the amount I would have to pay off wouldn't make a tiny dent in the debt it wouldn't even pay the interest ... I also want to concentrate on the debts I'm currently working on as well, once they are gone I will get the student loan down

It would also mean that the more hours I do the less I will take home, so I think I have worked it out that if I do 40-45 hours per month I should be ok... Anymore than that and it's not worth it

I think I need to slow down on the overtime as well tbh so I am happy with that :)

well car insurance bought we were quoted £345 by the old provider, we got it for £199.77 so i will be putting some of the extra money off of the biggest debt taking it down to almost cleared ( about £300 left to go) now i will have two more visa's coming off of their 0% shortly and i am still paying 6.3% for the car so we are still thinking about re mortgaging to be honest, i think we have managed to wean ourselves off of the visa finally so i am confident that we wouldnt run towards it

mr el and i have discussed this many times and we still are struggling to see any real negatives in doing so, yes we will have more money against the house etc but it will work out quite a bit less than what we are currently paying and it will allow us to concentrate on just the one debt i can over pay the mortgage by £500 a month ( which i fully intend on starting if we do transfer) and i can also pay the further borrowing by £500 a month ... ook that may be a bit of a problem but the option is there ....

    any thoughts ?

had spicy thai mince again for dinner tonight, i know we had it last week but it is so fast to make and tastes delicious and after a hard night shift i needed easy so that was it :)

Well I'm up and just about to head out for my next long day ..7.30am till 10pm, have my food all ready and will leave my purse again to ensure I don't spend any pennies ... I'm liking the idea of doing most of my overtime in my first week of the month as it takes the pressure off of me to find more overtime throughout the month, as well as allowing me to enjoy my days off more, I have Monday early shift, then fri, sat, sun night shift then I am off for a week, I have a few people coming over for help next week but both are on Tuesday, one through the day and one at night

Mr el has lost half a stone in his first week, it's quite hard with him as he still doesn't feel he is losing enough weight ... I reckon half a stone in a week is pretty good, so with this he starts to get harder on himself and I have to keep telling him to stop or slow down and I keep trying to explain that he shouldn't be going by weighing scales ... Honestly I could kick him sometimes lol

  • Morning El, that's one long day ahead of you. I would probably try to cram it into a week rather than massive hours each week.

Tell Mr El to hide his scales, you suggested I did and I've found it helps me. :o

Well done on your sugar challenge, how are you feeling as a result? Plus how's the leg doing?

Have a good day, Tilly x

What is Mr El going to do when it slows down to normal rate of a pound or two a week? Men are so impatient:D

Hope your long day doesn't seem so long.

I know Butti, but will he listen... I think it's a reflection I where his head is at, he is so impatient he wants instant gratification from his efforts, it's no wonder it took me ages to get him on board with money saving and debt reducing

    Hi Tilly :),

Yep I did the same on Sunday, then a team meeting on the Monday before doing a night shift on the Monday night, so I have done a good few hours this week, but I think I prefer it that way so that I can have most of the rest of the month overtime free

The leg is feeling better thanks, I tried running again in Monday but I failed miserably, I'm trying to do this chi running the premise of which is to have a midfoot strike, no over striding and leaning slightly forward allowing gravity to kinda pull you along, oh and leg speed of 93 ( which is for me really really fast) I failed and really struggled, I think I am going to take this week to watch videos and try again next week

I have threatened mr el with removing the scales from the house if he keeps it up tbh, today just before I came out he said oh I think I will have my protein shake with skimmed milk, I flipped at him, he was at work the other day and they told him he shouldn't have full fat milk but should have skimmed milk as that's what all the people in the know say, so I told him" on you go have your skimmed milk, obviously half a stone in a week isn't enough for you and you think these people that have obviously studied nutrition for years know much better than me, I will stay out if it and let you get your advice from them" He settled for half full fat milk and will dilute it with water ... I can understand the frustration with wanting to loose weight and it not coming off fast enough for your liking but as I explained to him it didn't go on overnight so it ain't gonna come off overnight

    Men lol
