10 months in and 90 left to go ... the reality is starting to kick in :)

But even with my 100 month challenge there isn't a debt free date just a month ... I've been noticing that having a date seems to help spur people on to beating it, maybe it's because we get paid monthly so when it happens it will happen on either the 15th of the month or the second last working day of the month ... Will play with the figures again and try and come up with a date I think ... Although I'm wondering if I should make it for when we do decide to either re mortgage or as it stands just now ...0

Hmmmm playing with these figures again, if I up my minimum payments then we can pay it off earlier, now last month we did pay a bit more than the £707, not a lot more but we did pay more and with the length of time we still have left we wouldn't have to pay much more in order to clear it that wee bit faster. That would bring my debt free date forward and we could use the rest of the time to boost the savings which is also part o the challenge.
I think though at this stage I will not put the pressure on ourselves, but will continue to pay it off as fast as we can and as the time gets closer I can start a wee challenge to find extra, I'm thinking starting such a challenge just now will mean I will run out of steam kinda soon, and that wouldn't be any good0 -
£150 paid into the savings plan for when we are debt free ( I'm liking this working on the savings as well as paying the debts
)
Have had another 3 hours added into my working week this week so I'm now up to 81.5 hours ... I'm thinking I will be discussing with the boss me getting a bigger contract than I am so tht I won't have to work these stupid hours ... I've also been moved to a totally different unit from normal and I'm not really happy about that to be honest but with it being my contracted hours instead if overtime I don't really have any say tbh
Tonight's dinner was a delicious chicken breast stuffed with cheese and herbs wrapped in bacon with veggies on the side ... Yum

I'm going to have to start the budget for mid of feb till middle of march I'm not too panicky about it though as I know I have 61 hours overtime due so that will help and all bills should be met its more a question of how much extra I can squeeze out of the budget for debt payment and savings for the various things0 -
Well done re the savings payment!

Thanks catshark, I'm fingers crossed hoping I have £10k saved by the time my challenge is finished
I know beanie ... And that's in one week ... It's like two full time jobs plus overtime ... We are just so so short staffed just now and I really don't want just anybody coming into our unit as it is a highly specialised one ... I spose that's one of those having a good work ethic things0 -

I think I'm possibly drawing in that old el that used to do 80-100 hour weeks every week... That old el hasn't done that amount of hours for years though so it needs to be a one off lol .0
