Have a good day whatever you decide to do:)

Painting a wall can be therapeutic though Butti, and you've had far too much excitement recently as well .... Not good excitement Incidently

Well shift today is slowly going in, I have another 4 hours left to go, but that will be 13.5 hours overtime so far this month once it's done, I have 10 hours tomorrow and 13.5 on Wednesday with a final 7 at the end of the month, so this months overtime is ok for the month of march all bills should be paid no problemo

good that you can pay the bills...hope the next 4 hours don't drag too much x
  • EL - Glad you're feeling a little better, and good for the O/T this month !

I too really want (and maybe need) a Log Burner, I've not had anyone check out the chimney status yet, as didnt see much point whilst I can't do anything about it ... but I need to look at doing something as the storage heating is costing a fortune. Also need to look at replacing it with proper gas central heating, but same dilemma.

Beanie - likewise, my conservatory has now sprung a leak or two .. small at the mo, but will need looking at if this darn weather continues. We do use it even in winter - its damn cold though as my storage heater is buried behind boxes!

Looks like you're also getting to grips with the meal planning El, frustrating as it is having bought food which may now not be suitable for mr d's diet !

Hope you've had a good shift.

I have 2 woodburners and this is their first winter's use. They are great, but quite pricey to run, if you don't have a v cheap wood supply. Having said that, we have oil CH so they work out well in comparison...

Where they are great, is that you can heat up small areas. Most of our house is very cold, but I keep the kitchen and small sitting room toasty for the kids (& dog).

You can also save money on TV electric, as watching the flames dance is much nicer than most of what seems to be on at the mo...

Thanks catshark I think that's what we are going to go for... We've chatted and we just can't justify the amount of money for the whole system so I think we will save up and get just a smaller one for the downstairs of the house and maybe start using that more, our plans for when we retire are to rent the house out anyway and it can be divided into two but the bottom half would need heated, if we got the fire that would help sort that issue I think ...

So with all that in mind I have opened a new savings account have put £2 into it and will slowly build it up it will take us a few years to save enough so we will have plenty of time to reduce the debts in the mean time, but at least it gives us an opportunity to start to be able to put our dreams into action

Had a meeting at work today, there is a new proposal that would mean a few I us would have to move units as we are over qualified and they don't want to pay us the money they are currently paying ... You would think I was highly paid with that statement but no I really am not £800 a month net wages doesn't go far ... But it's cut backs eh

Pah to the proposals but not entirely surprised the way things are, hope this doesn't make your travelling go up any.
