    Thanks taxi I did :)

No £5 hasnt appeared in my Halifax account, I am putting it down to the fact the account hasn't long been opened , if one isn't there next month I will deal with it then

Have been using up loads of out if date stuff so hopefully soon I can start on a new cupboard and get that organised, have found the freezing of mushrooms and turnip a very handy thing, and such a time saver tbh ... Think I will keep that up :)

Have managed a wee 88p Tilly tidy today, the first of the direct debits from the Halifax account ( so I know that's set up alright... One more to go )

I'm making a pot of soup as I will be working a minimum if 13.5 hours on Sunday so need to get my food organised for then

Ohhh I officially became a member of the speakers club last night , had a great night there again, I spend most if my time laughing, I so enjoy going there, it's a great spirit boost for me

Think that's all for now .. I'm sure I will remember something later though :)

    Hope everyone is good

Do you have to speak a certain number of times El and do you get given a subject or choose your own?

From what I understand I ask to speak the first time as I am allowed to build up my confidence ( I really struggle with confidence when speaking)

They help you by giving you what is known as a topic, so my first topic was " if Santa was real what would you ask him for a Xmas present"

When you come to do a speech though it's the subject of your choice, you get to pick it all ... The speech can be anywhere from 5-8 minutes, I don't think I will ask to do a speech this year ( the year runs from September to march) but I think I would like to try next year

Topics ( ie the what would I like for Xmas question) you are given 2 mins, no more ... You can of course take less ... i blabbed about xmas as a child and how my fave present was a frankie goes to hollywood picture disc record, but how now as an adult i see the world differently and dont care for jewellry etc... all i wanted for xmas was a new job lol

The group has many roles designed to help you with public speaking, from chair person to time keeper, evaluator to topics chair person, to general evaluator approx 25 people get to speak at a meeting ( as well as everyone there)

We've had some answers at topics time that has had tears running down my cheeks with laughter, one guy was asked about the change within society for older people are they now seen as disappearing, the guy that answered it spoke about aliens and Area 51 ... I almost wet myself laughing at the tale he told

It's generally the older generation that goes.. I'm the second youngest ... Most are 70 plus in age ... And oh boy can they tell tales ... Very very very talented people

It's honestly one of the best things I've ever taken up

Is it sad that I got my wage slip in today and the first thing I noticed after how much I got was the 62p Tilly tidy that I get to do tomorrow :) ?

    That did make me chuckle!:D

1st thing I did when I got in was log-onto online banking as it's VSP transfer day ..... and there was only 38p (so I was really disappointed!) - decided to leave it until tomorrow & see if it's anymore then!:o

Well done on the speaking thing - I nearly broke out in a cold sweat just thinking about it .... that kind of thing fills me with terror :o

Just found your diary searching for "Halifax" because I didn't get £5 today either and my account has been open since November. I did get £5 in December though so hopefully we'll both get our fivers on Monday :)
