Wow my house is positively balmy, we gave reached the dizzying heights of 18 degrees finally
That's nearly bikini temp!:rotfl:
Courgette rissoto sounds delish ... Never tried it
mmmmm was thinking that too!I was very unsure about menu planning Skinty and we had tried it before but it didn't seem to work , this time however it seems to be working ... Maybe we're more organised , maybe we're trying harder, maybe the way we are doing it this time is better ?
You know .... I'm finding it much better this time too!
I'm not sure if it's because I'm on the really restrictive diet anyway (I found a lot of times before I had planned it but then couldn't have what I'd planned on a particular day) ..... hopefully I'll get through the freezer contentsGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I'm just kinda starting with building my freezer contents, yes I've always had things in the freezer and it's always been full to bursting, but I've never frozen turnip or mushrooms or lasagne before, so it's a whole new experience for me0

I'm deff trying hard taxi
Well tonight it was day two of macaroni and cheese, tasted lovely and all use up now, the last of the mushrooms have been frozen as well so that's good, mr el dropped into the shop on the way home and bought some chicken, I was disappointed he never left me any Tilly tidies to do, but ... The eBay money for the thermometers came off so I had something to Tilly tidy therenot all is lost lol... Have done my sugar shuffle for the day as well so that's another day ticked off
Went for a walk with mr el again tonight, it wasn't as painful as last night so I'm feeling more positive about the leg as well, had a go at doing a years budget but I didn't see anywhere I could make any changes or reductions .. Maybe I am doing it wrong ?
Got some quotes for car insurance, I think we won't have much problem getting it cheaper than we have been quoted so far0 -

thanks skinty and taxi, will need to discuss things with mr el and get him to make a few calls so that we can sort it out
well today i have been incredibly lazy and done nothing, apart from the tilly tidy of 17p i'm thinking i should maybe phone my mortgage provider and ensure that it is ok for me to pay off my mortgage in the drips and drabs that i am, i dont see it being a problem but maybe i should check it out just to be sure
tonights dinner is thai spicy mince in lettuce cups, mr el made it a while ago and it is delicious so looking forward to that, will use the last of the side salad stuff up as well,
i'm starting to think towards the next menu plan ( we are due to do another one on sunday as we only did a fortnight last time) i think i would like to try for a three week plan this time and see how we go with it, i also this time have things like lasagne that has already been cooked so just needs taken out of the freezer, i think that will be handy for busy nights, i am hoping this time to have less that i need to buy from the shops as well as i am concerned that we are going well over budget for the shopping, i only have £8 left to last us till the 15th of february, dont get me wrong i do still have my asda card which has about £115 ( not entirely sure though) on it so we wont starve but i would idealy like to get our shopping down from the £200 a month to eventually £150 but if i can get it down by even £10 a month to begin with i will be happy, there is only mr el and i to feed in our house so it shouldnt be too hard to get down and yet i seem to struggle with it, between the food and the gas and electricity i just dont seem as if i can get a grip on some things0 -
Am sure you'll get there in the end with the food shopping but it seems a never ending battle with prices changing all the time on food0

it certainly does taxi, and the annoying thing is they just dont seem to be going down in real terms, maybe for a week or so, so you try and buy what ever is on special that week, then you find out its went up in price to more than it has been, and the time involved in hunting down all the bargains is frustrating as well
ahh well i'm sure we will get there eventually
hope your good taxi0
