I have heard that putting aluminium foil down can deter the cat from walking on it, so you might want to give that a try.
To be fair, I think we at least have the counter thing sorted (touchwood!), she knows she's not allowed up there. Feeding your cat on your countertops is gross!!
I saw the foil tip a couple of days ago though, been putting some across the sofas when we're out to try and put her off!0 -
This is why I would never have cats, give me a dog any time, you have to be in control in your home, not an animal in control of you.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

Which is the main reason why different types of people find different types of animal appealing. I'm annoyed by a dog's slavish wanting to please and enjoy a cat's independence of mind. You obviously are in the opposite camp and good for you0

don't get me wrong, I do like cats, they are real characters, funny, and as you say independent. I just don't like the hygiene and health problems that they cause, never mind the smell.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -
My cat has disgraced himself by spraying on my laptop bag  So now it smells awful
(And the little swine managed to spray on the back of the bag so it's got into all of the padding  - someone's not getting anymore kitty treats for a looooooong time!)
I've tried scrubbing with Vanish carpet cleaner and a liberal dousing with Febreze, but the smell is still there. Does anyone have any ideas of anything else I can try before I have to bin it and buy a new one? I don't really think it will cope with being chucked in the washing machine, so I need to try to get the smell out by hand. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Dont think youve any chance now.
Just bin it and buy a new one.
Dont not give youre kitty treats because he wont understand why you are doing this.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
A solution of white vinegar and water might work.0

Try using biological laundry detergent before you bin it0

My cat has been known to disgrace himself occasionally too. I find that sometimes the biological washing liquid works and or a fairly concentrated white vinegar & water mix. The vinegar smell dissipates fairly quickly. Which I use depends on how thorough a "soaking" the article got.0
