What have you removed the late payment marker or the association with your mother?
You need to file a notice of dis-assocation and importantly WAIT until the files are updated if you have not done that already.0 -

The association with my mother. I only sent the forms off about a week ago though. Call Credit have confirmed it's been done.
Should I wait til they've all been confirmed then try re-applying? Or should I leave some time before applying?
Am I able to remove the late payment marker? It was a year ago (i think)0 -
Call credit are the least used of the 3 CRAs.
You should wait because applying before it's been done means more searches and that can be negative.
Up to you whether you want to check, wait for confirmation etc. but statutory credit reports are only £2.
You can only remove a late payment marker if the lender agrees it was a mistake and agrees to remove it.
It will stay on for a few years but it will be less important as time goes on.
The whole point of having history is so lenders can seee when you have paid on time. It would be a silly system if people could just remove the history as that's exactly the information lenders need to make their decisions, so I am afraid you are stuck with it, but 1 late payment in the past is not the end of the world and shouldn't on it's own stop you getting credit. There are many factors taken into account.0 -

I will iterate what I said earlier - it is likely that the decline came from your the financial association with your mother if she had 'poor credit'. You applied for the account too soon - before the association could be taken off.
Wait until you have confirmation there is no longer an association with your mother for all 3 CRAs and I almost guarantee you won't get rejected. Unless they have a clause of auto-rejecting applicants that have unsuccessfully applied in the last 6 months, which some lenders do.I have worked at HSBC Bank in various departments both customer facing and process-related for six years. However, any advice given is my own.0 -
ofcourse instead of applying again you could wait until the association with your mother is removed and then request them to re-evaluate your old application, this will ensure the system does not auto-reject you if they have that criteria and some underwriter will relook at your credit files and take a decision outside the system. Ensure you explain to them the association which has been removed as you are not financially associated with your mother.:beer::beer:0

Can you do that? I'd rather do that then make a new application.0 -

Well, i've had confirmation from all 3 agencies that the financial link with my mum has been severed. Is it too soon to apply again? They still have a Dyson cheap!0

Phone them back up and ask them to look at the application again as your credit file has changed and if they still turn you down try again in three to six months.
A company doesn't have to give anyone credit but its annoying when they don't but good luckI'm not poor i'm just skint0 -

Thanks. If I call them and ask them to check again, will this count as a new search on my CRF's? I only have 2 searches listed, one was Very, and the other was my new Nationwide CC.0
