in Credit cards
I wanted to take advantage of a Dyson on offer and to take an extra 10% off on a new account opening. But I was refused, and i'm not entirely sure why.
I have 3 CC's, 2 with no balance £2800 and £1500 limits, and one with £800 on it
a loan with £2200 remaining for 18 months,
A contract mobile,
A Bank account with an O/D of £50 which i use only occasionally.
A JD williams acc with a bal of £120
Theres one late payment marker on the catalogue acc, but thats it. I also financial association (SP?) with my mother whom has poor credit, but I've just sent forms to all of the agencies to get it removed, one has replied and confirmed it's been done, just waiting in the others.
Any thoughts? Am i over streached on the credit front maybe? The CC's are good APR's as well, 6.9% and 9.9%. The other is a cap One card which is a crap APR of 29ish i think.

It could be due to too much available credit, and depends if the company has had any past experiences with you (such as Littlewoods etc.)0

Nope. Only ever had one catalogue account, and i'm still using it, which is JD0

Will be getting rid of the Cap one card anyway, never used it and its a crad APR0

It seems as though your rejection was before all CRAs have processed your notice of disassociation that is to get your mother removed, and this is probably why you have been rejected.
Had you have applied after all CRAs confirmed the association was deleted and no longer available for lenders to see, there is no reason why Very would reject you.
They are often very reasonable in their credit scoring.I have worked at HSBC Bank in various departments both customer facing and process-related for six years. However, any advice given is my own.0 -
Rejection from Very is a worrying thing indeed."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0

If you've had a account with them in the past they auto declineCan I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0

Never held an account with them. Only catalogue i've had is JD Williams and i still have it0 -
It'a annoyed me though cos the Dyson was only £189, which is a bargain for a Dyson!! :mad:0

So...any suggestions on what I can do? Is it most likely to be the financial association with my mum? She might have had a Littlewoods cat years ago.0
